Many times we measure the quality of our lives by our job title,
The people we know,
The fullness of our calendars,
The money we make,
The trips we take,
And how beautiful our lives appear to others.
But on the spectrum of quality,
Those aspects do not hold value,
Because it's not about how well we can impress others or how envious we can make them.
It's not about our possessions or status in society,
Which can easily be manipulated and judged by the rest of the world.
In turn,
It causes us to feel small.
It causes us to feel replaceable.
Quality is determined by our intrinsic value,
By who we are,
Not what we are,
By the gifts that only we can share and how we spread our light in this world.
Part of our quality is living our Dharma,
Our life's purpose,
The reason our higher powers source our existence on this planet.
Because regardless of what our unique Dharma is,
It will always encompass us being our healthiest,
Truest,
And most fulfilled self.
For the rest of the meditation,
I invite you to focus on your quality of life from inside out.
Who you are once you relinquish all the titles you hold,
Peel back all the layers you've built,
Remove all the items you possess,
And stop worrying about the people you want to impress.
Ask yourself,
Am I living my true life?
Am I living my Dharma?
Am I fulfilled?
Am I spiritually,
Physically,
Mentally,
Energetically,
And vibrationally healthy?
Am I being of service,
Inspiration,
And positivity to others?
Am I more focused on my external value than my internal,
Or the quality I think I should have,
Or than the quality I already have?
These questions will help you reflect on the most important qualities of a joyful and purposeful life,
So you can identify areas that could use more tender love and care.
I invite you to close your eyes and find a comfortable seat or lie down.
Create awareness of the space you're in and settle into it with ease.
Allow your muscles to melt away from the bones.
Then do a body scan from the crown of your head to the tip of your toes.
Notice the tingling sensation as your awareness travels throughout your body.
Find the rhythm of your breath and without judgment,
Bring attention to it.
Create space in your belly and lungs to deepen your breath.
Take a long,
Slow inhale for the count of four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Pause at the top for three,
Two,
One.
And release for six,
Five,
Four,
Three,
Two,
One.
Deep inhale again for a count of four.
Pause for three.
And exhale for six.
On every inhale,
Feel your value growing from inside out.
Know that your identity at the core is enough to give you the quality of life you deserve.
And on every exhale,
Peel back the layers,
Relinquish the titles,
Remove the possessions,
And release the impressions.
Maintain this pattern of breath while taking a few moments to yourself and ask the questions from earlier.
Find answers in the solitude and belief in your power living with it.
Take a couple more breaths before ending your meditation.
Remind yourself that you are important.
You are loved.
You are powerful.
You are unique.
You are larger than life.
You are the universe.
You,
My friend,
Are the universe.
Make slow and subtle movements in your body,
Starting with your fingers and toes,
And awakening your muscles one by one until you are fully aware of your physical space.
Feel free to blink a few times before opening your eyes to adjust to any light in the room.
As we close this practice,
I challenge you to focus on the parts of you that hold value moving forward.
The qualities that cultivate quality.
Your essence,
Your intentions,
Your dharma,
Your gifts to share with the rest of the world.
Who you are at your core.
Who you are once you realize that you are a divine energy that was put on this earth to be a light in this world.
Always remember that you are greatness,
That you are love,
That you are the universe extending from above.
Namaste.
