Hello,
My name is Lena Moxon.
I am a certified SAR method teacher.
And today I'm going to give you the what's hot,
The what you need to know so that you can really open yourself up to letting this revolutionary healing modality into your life.
So what is the SAR method?
Somatic activated healing was created by the spiritually sassy SAR DC moan.
It's like I said,
A revolutionary practice.
It's the first of its kind combining the healing modalities of somatic movement,
Rhythmic breath,
Positive affirmation and dynamic meditation.
It is truly an invitation for all beings.
It meets you exactly where you are.
And I always like to say to anybody that steps in to be guided in a somatic activated healing session,
You get to find your path within the path.
So it's very much a co-creation that we create together.
There isn't like a rigid,
Strict way to practice.
This is a mystic medicine.
And so there's very specific formula and ingredient and way that this must be shared with you and that you must allow yourself to kind of take on.
However,
The way that you take it on,
The way that it feels,
The way that you express it,
The way that you move with this method is entirely yours to create in the moment as it comes to you,
Through you,
As you.
So why do we practice?
Why this method?
Well,
This method has been created in addressing that trauma is a fact of life,
But healing from it is our responsibility.
Trauma isn't just what happened to you.
It's about the feelings that linger within you as a result of your traumas,
No matter how large or how small.
The women that come to me that I support and that I work with often have very specific things that they are working through,
That they are being supported in healing.
But for others,
They're not quite sure what it is that occurred.
They just know that there are feelings,
Sensations,
Emotions within them that make it really hard for them to feel safe within themselves and within their lives.
And I also like to point out that in modern times,
In this modern world that we are living,
Our bodies and our nervous systems are under stress consistently just by existing in this world.
Our bodies,
Our nervous system was initially created for us to be living lives that would be radically different to what we are actually experiencing.
We're supposed to be out in nature and connecting with animals and allowing ourselves to follow the sun,
To be rising with the sun and getting rest when the sun comes down.
None of us are doing any of that,
Any of that,
Right?
We're busy,
We're pulled in a million different directions and we haven't been paying attention to the way that living a very normal life has really become quite traumatic for our bodies and our nervous system.
So coming to somatic activated healing isn't just for people that are coming with something specific that they're trying to heal.
It's for the everyday person living in this world because truth be told,
Our bodies,
Our nervous systems are experiencing trauma just from normal life.
And so this is a beautiful gift to ourselves,
To our bodies,
To our nervous systems in order to support us in just being here.
So what we get to bring attention to and focus to and understanding is that when we have big feelings,
Right?
Any kind of,
You know,
Hyper expressed or felt emotion,
No matter what the cause and conditions for that was,
Whenever we experienced that within us,
If it is left unprocessed in the body,
Which it often is,
Maybe because we're not resourced enough to process it,
Or we just simply don't have time,
We're always onto the next thing.
What happens is those emotions within the body actually lead to big stories in the mind.
And this cycle is what keeps us attached to the past,
Unable to release and recover.
And it inhibits our ability to be present,
To be here and to create a meaningful life.
It's ultimately what keeps us stuck in suffering.
So after we have traumatic or painful experiences,
Many of us actually become masters of escaping the present moment,
Which is where our bodies live.
To be in the present means we have to be in our body,
Inhabit our body,
Not in our memory,
Not in the anxious anticipation of what's coming.
To be in the body is to be in the present moment,
But we've become masters of not doing that,
Right?
Because what we are trying to escape and avoid is any feeling of discomfort that exists,
That's there.
We don't know how to be with uncomfortable feelings.
So what do we do?
We disassociate,
We multitask,
We numb ourselves to try and escape any unpleasant feeling from grief and rage and shame,
All the way to just being kind of like bored and discontent in the moment.
We don't even like that.
We're always looking for something.
We haven't been processing what's going on within the body,
Particularly when it comes to our uncomfortable emotions.
And so what happens?
When our unprocessed emotional baggage builds up in our bodies,
What happens is that we're actually stuck in survival mode.
We're never fully relaxed or at ease or available to the present moment.
And this can manifest in a variety of ways,
Including confusion,
Paranoia,
Outbursts,
Mysterious physical pain,
Gut issues,
A sense of nothing ever being enough,
Feeling broken.
Maybe you're triggered by peace,
Constantly fearful about the future,
Worried about the past,
Addictive behaviors,
Cravings,
Negativity bias,
The list goes on and on and on,
But it actually becomes more and more relatable to all of us.
Right?
This is not just something that we have to work on individually,
Collectively,
As community,
As society,
As the world.
We need to really address this so that we can relate to ourselves and others and the world from a place of presence,
Rather than constantly relating to ourselves and others and the world from this built up,
Anxious,
Overwhelmed,
Fearful,
Reactive state.
All of our personal chaos stems from our inability to be with uncomfortable feelings in the body.
And our chaos bleeds into the world around us,
Spreading like a contagion.
So even though this is a collective issue that we must face,
All that we can do truly is take full,
Radical accountability and responsibility for the way that it feels just to be us,
To exist as us,
How skillfully we can process what we are experiencing within us,
Because we know it's going to impact the way that we're showing up and relating to others and the world,
And it matters.
Our painful memories have hardwired feelings attached to them.
Mental therapeutic healing methods,
Although great,
Needed,
Necessary,
Use a top down approach in which the mind is the entry point to resolve our past and the feelings associated with it.
However,
This often requires mentally revisiting traumatic or painful experiences.
So what happens when we know that we need support in just feeling a little better,
But we're sick to death of talking about what's occurred or what's happened?
We have a clear understanding of why we are the way that we are.
Maybe we understand it and we just simply don't want to talk about it anymore.
We want to find ways to feel better in the moment that we are in.
Q,
Somatic activated healing.
The SAR method utilizes a bottom up approach in which the body is the entry point for healing.
So it addresses the emotional baggage in our bodies rather than the specific thoughts or memories connected to them in our minds.
You'll never be asked to talk about what you are processing,
What you're going through.
You'll never be asked why.
You will just be shown how to work with what is there in the moment that you are in.
Through the SAR method,
You master the art of being in your body.
In the SAR method,
You'll learn to drop the story and be with the feeling.
You'll hear any teacher that is guiding you through this method,
Say it again and again,
Drop the story,
Be with the feeling,
Drop the story,
Be with the feeling,
Which can be such a relief if your story just causes you to suffer or you're just sick and tired of it altogether.
And this offers a safe space and guidance for you to call forth,
Process and release stored emotions from your body without having to re-engage with the narrative or memory associated with those feelings.
By removing the emotional charge of the story,
You strip the traumatic memories of their power and transfer that power to you.
So how does it work?
Where there is dysregulation within the body,
The SAR method helps you regulate.
Regulation is how we build resilience.
So we're not looking to rid ourselves of particular emotions,
Quite the opposite actually.
We're looking to learn how can I regulate myself no matter what is present,
No matter what is there.
When our nervous system is regulated,
We can soften from survival mode into a healing,
Receptive and creative state.
In somatic activated healing,
The somatic moves help you tap into your emotional baggage and process your feelings with intention.
So there's no like choreography that you have to learn.
This isn't dancing for the sake of,
You know,
Looking cute.
In fact,
I wouldn't classify this as dancing at all.
You are given specific moves that have been created by SAR De Simone that are honestly mystic medicine in motion.
And you're taught how to do each of these moves within the session.
You're guided to use your body to activate your innate healing capacity within.
And you're given so much freedom and flexibility in the way that you move with that.
There are three different speeds in which you can process and use the movements.
And so you're given so much in terms of how would this feel right for me using the specific movements that are going to activate and create the cause and conditions for you to process what needs to be processed in the moment.
The breath work that you are guided through throughout each session will bring you back into your body.
It will root you into the present moment because when we're with the breath,
We actually are forced to be in the moment.
If you're breathing,
If you're with your breath,
You're here,
You're now because we can't breathe in the past.
You can't breathe into the future.
It teaches you how can I be tethered to this moment?
How can I be here within my body?
And beyond that,
It gives you the energy and the inspiration to do the work.
The meditations are such a beautiful offering because they give you the concentration to be in your body and they'll improve your relationship with your mind.
And you'll be able to engage with your feelings,
Not the stories attached.
And finally,
The positive affirmations will help you to reinforce a powerful new inner vocabulary and mindset.
This will create shifts within you,
But it will ultimately transform the way you relate to yourself and the world.
So as a somatic healer,
My job is to tune into the body and call forward the emotional baggage of the story that has been weighing you down,
That has been keeping you heavy.
And that emotional baggage,
That sticky residue that kind of just resides on you,
Within you,
Through you,
As you.
It might be subtle.
It might not even be super aware of what it is that you're working through or you're processing and you don't need to.
All you need to know is there is a desire in me to just feel a little better,
More present,
More focused,
More open,
More available,
More in trust and openness with the moment that I'm in,
Rather than constantly feeling like I'm here,
But not really here.
And those parts of you might not be active all day.
Maybe it's just you have this awareness that,
Oh,
When I'm triggered,
It's not good.
It's not good for me.
It's not good for the people involved.
It's ultimately not good for the world because I'm a lot in that reactive state.
Somatic activated healing is going to support you in becoming a person who is able to respond rather than react.
You are going to learn how to drop the story and be with the feeling by bringing awareness to your feelings and being with it and working with it and moving with it and creating a new relationship with it.
Sometimes you'll be releasing.
Sometimes you'll just be kind of transforming the way you relate to that emotion,
How it feels in your body.
You can consider it like shining the solar awareness of your somatic practice onto the dark corners of your psyche,
The parts of you that you haven't known how to be in relationship with or how to express,
Or even just how to feel without,
You know,
Completely distracting or disassociating or just,
You know,
Doing all the harmful things that get in the way of us being our most connected present selves.
And so I look forward to sharing more about this revolutionary healing modality with you,
Transmuting this mystic medicine through me and sharing it with you in many different iterations and explorations and co-creations that we will get to share together.
If you have any other questions,
Please reach out to me.
The best way,
The best way to even glimpse an understanding of what this is,
Is to just find yourself a session that you feel drawn to and just allowing yourself to step in,
To be guided and know that you will be met exactly where you are.
And you can trust and believe that you will be gifted and given the mystic medicine that has been created specifically for you.
