Welcome to this guided meditation for self-love.

Allow yourself to get comfortable.

You will want to be seated in an upright position with your feet on the floor.

Your hands can rest anywhere that feels natural.

Now,

Close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Take a few moments to get in tune with your breath.

Notice where you feel your breath the most.

Is it in your chest?

Your abdomen?

Your nostrils?

Notice also that you are relaxing with each breath you take.

Now take in another deep breath,

Inhaling awareness.

And as you exhale,

Open up your heart to this experience.

Now direct your attention to a time when you had negative feelings about your body.

It could be because you didn't like the way you looked.

Or perhaps you felt insecure about a specific aspect of your body and wanted to change it.

Maybe you were even comparing your body to others and really noticing any flaws.

How did it feel to have these negative thoughts at the time?

What did it feel like to not love or accept your body in this way?

Maybe disconnected or sad and hurt by those feelings.

What does it feel like now to relive those thoughts?

Does it make you feel small or broken?

Frustrated?

Angry?

Angry at yourself for thinking in this way?

Or angry at society for putting this burden on you?

See if when you breathe in,

You can open your heart to this pain and try to make space for it.

Know that you are not alone in this feeling.

Unfortunately,

It has become a feeling most of us know all too well.

Now that you've given these feelings their moment,

See if you can forgive yourself for feeling this way.

See if you can also forgive society and others for drawing out this insecurity.

After all,

The only person that suffers from holding on to this pain is you.

Now,

Think of a time where you felt really good about your body.

You might have felt confident,

Proud,

Or just simply liked the way you looked.

How does this memory make you feel?

Are you happy?

Pleased?

Maybe even carefree?

Uncontent?

What if you could feel this way whenever you wanted?

All you have to do is tap into this memory,

Those feelings,

And see if you can bring those feelings into the here and now with you.

Now,

Let's come back to the breath.

Breathe lots of love in and breathe lots of love out.

Love for yourself.

Come back to your surroundings now and feel your feet on the floor,

Your body touching the chair or couch.

And when you're ready,

Open your eyes and reconnect with the world around you.

Try to bring some of this self-love into the rest of your day and remember just how beautifully unique you are.
