Hello,

This is Leah and welcome to this meditation for body confidence.

Position yourself comfortably and gently close your eyes.

Now take in a deep,

Full breath,

Full of curiosity and awareness.

And let it out,

Softening and letting go of any expectations.

Now we're going to go through every insecurity you might have.

And this might be difficult,

So make sure you're cultivating a mindset of acceptance and compassion during this exercise.

We'll start with your face.

What insecurities do you have here?

Why are they an insecurity?

Is it because someone commented on it?

Or is it because of societal standards?

Now see if you can show these insecurities some appreciation.

They are there because we are human and we're alive.

Now onto your torso.

What insecurities do you have here?

What about on your chest or your stomach don't you like?

How come?

Do you truly have to be at odds with these parts of your body?

Or can you show them some appreciation and acceptance because they make you,

You?

What about your arms?

What insecurities tend to show up here?

Have you ever wondered or questioned why you didn't like this part of your body?

Probably because they don't meet society's standard,

Right?

Well,

You need to learn to set your own standard because your arms are beautifully strong no matter what they look like.

Now for your back.

What parts of your back do you not like?

Why don't you like them?

Why do we have to hate our back rolls?

Our body is supposed to roll and squish.

That's what a healthy body body does.

So try to show your back some love for supporting you and everything you do.

Just bring your attention to your butt.

What insecurities are present here?

No matter if you think your butt is too small or too big,

Some people will never be satisfied.

And if someone doesn't like you for what your butt looks like,

You probably don't want to associate with them anyway.

Now onto your legs.

What parts of your legs have you only given negative attention?

Why is that?

Do you have to want to change these insecurities?

Why can't you just let them be?

They're not harming anything or anyone in any capacity.

And they are there because once again,

We are human.

It's normal to have insecurities,

But don't let them overtake your life.

No matter what you look like,

The people who don't like you will still not like you.

It's so important to remember that because we need to start living our lives for ourselves,

Not anyone else.

This life is only so long.

So do you want to look back in 30 years on how you lived your life based on what others thought of you?

Finally,

I'd like you to take some time to think about a time where you were fully confident in your body.

See if you can fully immerse yourself in this situation.

Where were you?

What were you doing?

Who was with you?

See if you can tap into what you were thinking during this time.

Why were you confident?

What about this situation made you feel confident?

How do you know you were confident?

What were you feeling,

Both in your emotions and your physical sensations?

What did it feel like to be this confident in yourself?

Possibly exciting?

Or maybe you were filled with enjoyment and contentment?

Know that you can bring those feelings and that confidence into the here and now,

No matter what you're doing.

And anytime you catch yourself being negative about your body,

Simply envision yourself flipping a switch to tune into that inner confidence that you hold.

Now come back to your breath.

Take in a deep cleansing breath,

Full of acceptance,

And as you breathe out,

Let go of any tension or discomfort you might be feeling.

As you slowly open your eyes,

Appreciate yourself for taking the time to work on your self-confidence and know that you can tap into that inner body confidence at any moment with just a flip of a switch.
