Hello,

Today I will be guiding you through a meditation for peace of mind and protection of your energy.

First find a comfortable position to settle into,

With the option to close your eyes fully,

To put them at half mass or to soften the muscles around your eyes and relax your gaze.

When we allow others to take up real estate in our mind with their negativity,

It can begin to affect our energy and how we move through our lives.

Instead of being in alignment with ourselves and our values,

We begin to feel drained and heavy.

We may even let this affect the lens that we see the world and other people through.

Today's practice will incorporate tools to help you get connected with yourself and your energy and methods for protecting your energy that you can also carry with you beyond this practice.

I will guide you to first bring your attention inward and to reflect and check in with yourself layer by layer.

Whatever you find or notice here,

Try not to label it as good or bad.

You're just checking in and finding clarity and your baseline.

First beginning with your physical body and any sensations or messages you notice here.

Do you feel tightness,

Tension or heaviness in any spots?

Assume the feelings and locations of them and sit with this for a few moments,

Just breathing and observing.

Now try to create some space in your body.

Your shoulders can maybe soften,

Your jaw might relax.

Notice around your ears and in between your eyebrows and anywhere else you noticed tension creeping in.

Now moving along to the breath,

Going a layer deeper,

Observe your breath without changing anything.

Where do you feel your breath?

Where is it entering and exiting through?

What is the path it follows as you breathe?

Do you hear a sound to your breath?

Do you notice the temperature?

What else do you notice?

Sit with this for a few moments,

Just breathing and observing.

Start to increase the connection and depth of your breath,

Little by little,

Just stretching it out breath by breath and breathing into every direction,

Front,

Back,

Sides.

Now moving deeper inward with your attention towards your mind,

Notice what thoughts pop up.

Do they have anything in common?

Any stories that come in?

What is the energy,

The quality,

The quantity and the pace of your thoughts?

Noticing which thoughts and stories are yours and which are others and not yours to hold on to.

Sit with this,

Just breathing and observing.

Now creating space between you and these thoughts.

Don't try to resist them,

But instead let them roll in like images on a movie screen and you just step back and observe.

They roll right in and roll right out.

Next,

Bringing your attention a layer deeper to your inner knowing and seat of wisdom.

Tune in and quiet down to listen more closely.

The outer layers are much louder than the inner wisdom,

But as if you were tuning to a specific radio station,

Seeking this innermost part of yourself.

The space in you that has noticed your energy being drained and the disconnect.

Consider a glowing red light by the base of your spine,

Spinning and expanding.

This is the muladhara,

The root chakra.

This is your sense of security and groundedness.

Breathe into the space and let it grow,

Allowing your fears and doubts to fade away.

And this glowing red light shifts its color to yellow.

This is the Manipura chakra.

This space acts as the body's energy powerhouse.

When it's clogged up,

You may find yourself feeling powerless,

Stagnant,

Or quick to react.

Meditate on your inner power as you visualize this yellow glowing light.

Visualize yourself strong and grounded.

What does that look like?

Now try to connect with your inner purpose.

What is that?

What does it feel like?

What is most important to you?

As you inhale,

This light expands and grows.

As you exhale,

All that is not for your best good fades away.

This glowing light continues to grow,

Filling your body,

Filling the room,

And stretching beyond as far as you can see,

Bouncing off any negativity that is directed at you.

You are strong,

Firm,

And connected with yourself,

Your energy,

And can discern what energy is yours and what is not.

What is for your highest good and the good of others and what is not.

This light continues to grow and expand,

Breathing life into it with each inhale.

Slowly,

This glowing light recedes and shrinks back to you and your body is still filled with this glowing,

Beautiful,

Bright light.

This light is your armor,

Your bubble,

Protecting you.

What you allow in makes its way through,

But what you choose not to allow in bounces off and goes around you rather than into or through you,

Visualizing the negativity bouncing right off of you and you and your shield are unharmed.

Slowly,

Letting the glowing light continue to shrink and recede back towards the space above your navel.

This light is always here and you can activate this and your shield whenever you need.

Repeat the following affirmations with me either out loud or silently to yourself.

I protect my peace.

I will not let anyone take away my happiness and peace of mind.

The best way to protect my peace is to keep focus on what matters most,

Me and my purpose.

I protect my peace.

I will not let anyone take away my happiness and peace of mind.

The best way to protect my peace is to keep focus on what matters most,

Me and my purpose.

Bring your attention back to your breath and take three deep breaths,

Filling up into your belly,

Your ribs,

Your chest,

All the way up to your collarbones.

And with each exhale,

You release what no longer serves you and anything you would like to leave behind.

When you are ready,

Slowly blink open your eyes if they are closed.

And if it feels natural to you,

Let the corners of your mouth turn up.

Thank you for joining me for this practice of connecting with yourself and protecting your energy.

Come back to this meditation as you need it and continue to use the visual of the glowing light being your armor and repeating the affirmation,

I protect my peace and remember what matters,

You and your purpose.

With our political climate being as volatile as it is, this meditation helped me greatly to protect my peace and to remind myself that the important thing is my purpose. I will come back to this again and again to reconnect with that complete peace.
