Welcome to the Heart of Centering.
My name is Lauren Archer and I'll be your guide.
In your daily life,
How do you find your center?
The practice of centering is a simple and effective way to come to your senses and reconnect with what's true and genuine and meaningful in your life.
The purpose of this listening session is to help you develop your own centering practice,
One that you can do anytime and anywhere.
Centering can be like letting the pendulum of your mind slow down and find its natural still point.
Another way to think of centering is like rebooting a computer.
You start by unplugging,
Disengaging,
And disconnecting from outer distractions so that you can re-engage and reconnect and plug back in to the authentic source of power at the center of your being.
Today's practice features centering your attention on the source of power within your own heart.
It's been said that there's an 18 inch drop from the head to the heart.
We'll be taking a journey and dropping in to your heart,
Physically connecting your attention,
Your awareness to the space in and around your human heart where you can access a source of knowing that is beyond your intellect.
As Helen Keller said,
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched.
They must be felt with the heart.
As you center your awareness on your heart,
You can allow your system to get a reboot,
Uninstalling old programs that no longer serve you,
Clearing whatever's been weighing you down,
Recovering your sense of inner balance,
Installing an upgraded version of inspiration and vitality.
So as you allow your inner mind to find its own purpose for centering,
You can allow yourself to appreciate your authentic experience of this process.
Let's take a moment to allow your body to settle into a comfortable position,
Either sitting up or lying down.
You can keep your eyes open if you like,
Or you can let your eyes comfortably close.
Keeping your spine straight,
Relax your forehead and temples,
Letting your lips gently part as you relax your jaw,
Dropping your shoulders now,
Letting your arms and hands feel loose and relaxed,
Relaxing your torso and abdomen,
Hips,
Legs and feet.
Taking in a full deep breath now,
And as you exhale letting the air all the way out.
As you relax into the rhythm of your breath,
You can come to your senses,
Becoming aware of your sensory experience right here and right now.
Noticing the sounds you're hearing,
Noticing the sound of your breathing,
And if you'd like you can even breathe a sigh of relief,
Perhaps letting yourself make a sound like ah.
Getting to the sounds you hear and simply noticing the sensation of hearing.
And now turning your awareness to the physical sensations in your body,
You can become aware of your posture,
Your breathing,
The way your body is supported,
The temperature in the room.
You may notice that you have a body,
But you are not your body.
You have a mind,
But you are not your mind.
You have emotions,
But you are not your emotions.
You have beliefs,
But you're not your beliefs.
You are at the center,
And as you become aware of your own awareness,
You can become aware of awareness itself.
And now let's aim your awareness at the rhythm of your breathing,
Relaxing and releasing into the rhythm,
Sensing how it feels to be aware of the rhythm of your breath,
And connecting with your center,
With your core,
Right here in your heart,
Connecting with your center,
With your own human heart.
Entering and experiencing the energy in your heart,
Being fully here,
Fully present,
Simply allowing yourself to feel what you're feeling and experience the energy.
Releasing any attachment,
Releasing any judgment,
Releasing any sense of expectation,
Simply connecting with the energy in the center of your heart.
And as you allow your awareness to settle into your heart center,
You may notice how it feels,
Experiencing yourself being present.
Your heart has the capacity to process information in a way that is beyond your intellect.
Notice how your heart is sensing information right now.
Notice what you are sensing.
Whatever you are feeling is just fine.
Simply allow yourself to find your center in this place of authentic feeling.
You can rest in this place of awareness,
Surrendering any expectations,
Allowing yourself to be fully present in your heart center and noticing how good it feels to simply be.
Letting your energy expand.
Feeling your feelings.
Now that you have experienced the sense of being present here in your heart center,
In the days and weeks to come,
You may find it easier and easier to simply drop into this place.
Now that you've made the connection,
You can remember the simple process.
To aim your awareness and relax into the rhythm of your breath and to drop in and connect with your center right here in your human heart.
Entering and experiencing the energy and releasing any judgment,
Any attachment.
That's right.
And now maintaining your center,
You can allow your mind and body to create a muscle memory,
A felt sense of this experience,
Planting it as a seed of awareness within your consciousness so that you can return whenever it feels right for you.
Returning to this safe refuge within.
And now maintaining your center,
Whenever you're ready,
You can return your awareness to your physical body,
Noticing the space you're resting in,
Coming back to this present time and place.
Or if you would like,
You may choose to simply rest here a while longer,
Staying present in your center with the music in the background until you are ready to naturally return.
When you do return to full awareness,
You will feel refreshed,
Alert,
And aware of the subtle shifts within you as you connect to your heart center.
Ladies,
Go back to your space.
