
Ready To Thrive
In this meditation you’ll explore the different areas of your life through the lens of your chakras, moving from identifying survival patterns to affirming your pathway to thrive. You'll first be guided through a relaxation exercise, and then transition into a journey up the chakras to look within and wonder where you may be trapped in survival habits that keep you from thriving in your life. To finish the meditation, for each chakra you’ll be offered an affirmation to move you towards thriving for each area of your life. The music continues for a minute at the end to help you transition. You might consider having a journal nearby to make notes or further process what arose during the meditation after you finish, or repeat the meditation, stopping and starting to capture what you might explore in more detail to move out of surviving and into thriving in your life. Welcome.
We'll begin with a brief relaxation,
Readying ourselves to open to the full benefit of our time in meditation.
First,
Become aware that you are here with me in this liminal space of time,
And that you are heading into the terrain within.
And in this inner terrain,
You are the protector,
The organizer,
And the leader.
You can create safety within by remembering your power.
Now bring your attention to your breath.
As you breathe in and out,
Begin to notice the quality of your breath.
Notice the temperature of the air coming in and out of your nostrils.
Relax your forehead and your face.
And on your next breath,
Soften and relax your shoulders.
Let them drop naturally downward with your next exhale.
And notice where your arms are and how relaxed they feel.
Adjust them.
If they might relax,
Let go and become more comfortable.
And now bring your attention to your heart space and sense whether it feels tight or relaxed.
As you exhale,
Tell it to soften and to let go.
And now let your attention draw downward to your belly.
Does your belly feel tight or relaxed?
Take a breath and breathe into this space of your body.
See if you can let go,
Soften,
And relax more.
And now let your attention draw downward to your hips,
To your pelvis,
Noticing if there's any tightness here in your body.
Take a breath into this space.
Let go and relax.
And now bring your attention downward.
Feel your feet.
If you're sitting,
Feel the connection they're making with the floor.
See if you can breathe all the way down into your feet.
And now check in with your body all over.
Sense into the deeper relaxation you just created in the last couple of minutes and let go a little bit more.
Let yourself,
Your whole body,
Soften and relax as you take your next few breaths.
And now we'll move through the chakras slowly,
Taking inventory with relaxed breathing and allowing your awareness to connect with the truth of different aspects of your life.
The important thing right now is to remain relaxed and allow yourself to see your life clearly without judgment.
We'll first focus on your first chakra and let your attention draw all the way down to the base of your spine,
Into your lower hips,
And into the base of your buttocks.
If you're sitting,
It's where your body is touching the chair.
And now bring to mind your body,
Your home,
Your family relationships,
The people you spend your time with,
And the places where you spend your time.
All of these aspects of your life are connected to first chakra energy.
How are these aspects of your life?
Where is their fear?
Is there negativity?
Again,
You're focused on your body,
Your home,
Your family,
And close relationships.
Is there anywhere you feel unsafe,
Insecure,
Or overwhelmed?
Imagine yourself breathing into this lower part of your body,
Allowing it to relax and let go as you allow yourself to see your truth as clearly as you can.
We're taking inventory without judgment right now.
And now draw your attention upward to your second chakra,
The space below your navel,
Into your upper hips,
Throughout your belly and pelvis,
And into the lowest part of your back.
As you rest your attention here,
Consider these aspects of your life,
Your personal power,
Your sexuality,
Your creativity,
How you show up in your connection with others,
How you handle your money.
How are these aspects of your life?
As you consider these,
Are there places where you feel unsafe or insecure,
Or have fearful thoughts or feelings?
Consider your finances,
Your sexuality,
How you express yourself creatively,
Your connection with your personal power.
As you bring each of these up,
Do you have feelings of insecurity,
Fear,
Heaviness,
Any negativity?
Allow yourself to breathe and take inventory right now without judgment.
And now moving up to your third chakra,
Your attention rests in the space between your navel,
Below your heart,
Around your upper ribs,
And the middle of your back.
And as you rest your attention here,
Consider these aspects of your life,
Your word,
How you stand up for yourself,
What you believe in,
Your trust in yourself and in others.
How are these aspects of your life?
And as you consider these aspects,
Are there places where you feel unsafe,
Insecure,
Or have fearful thoughts or feelings?
Consider how you express yourself and share your truth.
Do you know your truth?
Are you clear about your beliefs and values?
And do you live them?
And as you bring each of these areas up,
Do you have any feelings of insecurity,
Fear,
Any heaviness,
Any negativity?
Allow yourself to breathe into your third chakra and take inventory right now without judgment.
And now moving up to your fourth chakra,
Your attention rests in the space around your heart,
Your chest,
Your upper back area.
As you breathe and rest your attention here,
Consider what needs to be forgiven in your life,
Forgiven with others,
Forgiven with yourself.
What memories do you return to that keep you bound to the past,
Unable to be fully in the now?
Do you sense that you've built walls around your heart for protection that might harden you?
And as you consider these aspects of your life,
Are there places where you feel unsafe,
Insecure,
Or have fearful thoughts or feelings that center around past events or relationships?
Allow yourself to breathe,
Take inventory now without judgment.
And now moving up to your fifth chakra,
Your attention rests in the space at your throat,
Into your neck,
Up into your jaw.
And as you rest your attention here,
Consider these aspects of your life.
Where and when are you afraid to speak up for yourself?
Or hold back from speaking what you believe in,
What's important to you?
And as you consider this,
Do you feel unsafe or insecure or have fearful thoughts or feelings when it's time to use your voice or speak truth?
Consider how you express yourself,
How you advocate for yourself.
How you speak up on your behalf or for what you believe in,
What you care about,
Or how you use your voice in service to your personal power.
As you bring up each of these,
Do you have any feelings of insecurity,
Any fear,
Heaviness,
Or negativity?
Allow yourself to breathe and take inventory right now.
And moving up to your sixth chakra,
Your attention rests in the space around your forehead,
Moving inward from the space between your eyebrows.
And as you rest your attention here,
Ask yourself,
Where do I not trust my inner impulses or sense of what I should do for myself?
Where do I not trust my inner impulses?
Consider how you connect with your intuition,
Your sense of knowing beyond your five senses.
Do you feel that connection?
And do you know how it brings you messages?
Does it feel like you can describe how your intuition speaks to you?
Do you have any fear or negativity associated with knowing something without reason?
Are you afraid to be intuitive or to be clairvoyant or to have extra sensory perceptions?
Allow yourself to breathe and take inventory without judgment.
And finally,
Moving up to your seventh chakra,
Your attention rests in the space above the crown of your head.
And as you draw your attention here,
Consider your connection with your divine source.
Do you know what you believe about God,
The workings of the universe,
The wisdom of the unseen world?
Are you conflicted about what you've been taught or indoctrinated into?
Do you have fear or negativity associated with the possibility of a higher power in your life?
And as you bring each of these up,
Do you have any feelings of insecurity,
Fear,
Heaviness,
Or negativity?
Allow yourself to breathe and take inventory right now without judgment.
Okay,
Before we move on to the next part,
Let's take a moment to take three big clearing breaths.
Breathing deeply in through your nose and out through your mouth.
And we'll transition now to visit each chakra one more time.
And as you move up through the body one more time,
I'm going to offer an affirmation that you might consider as a guiding statement to help you move towards thriving in each area of your life.
I'll repeat each affirmation three times for you to consider how it feels and lands with you and what it might bring up for further exploration or inner work to look towards.
So bringing attention back down to first chakra,
The base of the spine,
If you're sitting where your body meets the chair.
I live comfortably and with security in my body,
My home,
And in the places and with the people I am surrounded by in my life.

And now bring your attention up to your second chakra,
Just below your navel,

And now let your attention draw up to third chakra,
Middle of the body,
Behind the upper ribs,

The choices I make come from clarity about who I truly am and what I value and want for my life.

Attention rests here.

And drawing attention up to fifth chakra,
Neck and throat.

Forehead,
Between the eyebrows and inward.
