So finding a place to sit where you can sit comfortably,
It doesn't have to be on the floor with your legs crossed.
It can be in a chair with your feet planted right on the ground.
Sometimes I even prefer this because I feel like I can get my feet planted and grounded into Mother Earth even more solidly.
So find your seat.
Now sitting up nice and tall,
We want a nice straight line from the base of the spine up to the crown of the head.
Just noticing that upright posture,
Feeling upright but also feeling relaxed.
And coming in to tune into breath,
Feeling the breath coming in,
Feeling the breath going out.
Just noticing the quality of your breath.
And as you breathe in and out and take mindful breaths,
Notice how your body begins to relax into your breath,
Begins to let go.
And it begins to settle into being in the present moment.
And there are moments early on in meditation when this begins to happen and it can feel uncomfortable when you're not used to it.
But that will change if you learn how to stay with the process.
And you'll actually switch from it being uncomfortable to truly feeling a new sense of comfort in peace in your body and in your being.
So if you're sitting on the floor,
Bring your attention to the base of your spine.
If you're sitting in a seat with your feet on the floor,
Bring your attention to the bottom of your feet.
Feeling your feet connected with the ground,
Feeling the base of your spine connected with the seat that you're sitting in,
The floor,
The ground.
Noticing where your hands are.
Are your hands comfortable?
Are they relaxed?
Are they in your lap?
Are they on your knees?
Are the palms down or the palms up?
Allowing yourself to slowly shift your hands into a position that feels right,
Relaxed,
And comfortable for you right now.
And bringing your attention to your face,
Your jaw,
Letting your face muscles relax,
Letting your jaw let go,
Relax.
Noticing the space between your ears and sides of your head.
Coming up to the crown of the head,
The point right at the top of the head.
Just bringing your attention and holding your attention there for a moment at the top of your head.
Bring your attention from the top of your head,
Just above your head a few inches.
And see if you can notice the space between the top of your head and the space just above your head,
Just a few inches.
Imagine yourself creating a line that extends out of your body from the top of the crown of your head up a few inches,
Expanding your sense of yourself upwards.
And now from that point a few inches above your head,
Imagine yourself drawing a line with a chalk or a pencil,
A pretty colored pen,
Whatever you prefer.
You're going to take that line straight down through the crown of your head,
Passing through the middle of your head,
Passing through your throat,
Coming to the top of your spine,
Running a nice straight line down through your spine,
Down to chest,
Down to belly,
Down to pelvis.
If you were standing,
You'd take that line straight down to the earth and that line would go down into the earth indefinitely.
Now you come back up to that point above your head and take that line and draw it up,
Up,
Up,
Up,
And imagine it going upwards endlessly.
And now imagine yourself,
See yourself as that meeting point from way up above into Mother Earth.
You are that one singular point connecting the heavens and the earth.
You're sourcing energy from way above into the galaxies,
Into the stars,
Into infinity,
And you're sourcing deep,
Deep,
Deep down into Mother Earth,
This home that provides all that we need to live and exist.
And if you were to find that point that was central to the meeting point between deep into the earth and way up in infinity,
It would be your heart space.
So allow your attention now to come into heart space.
In this space,
Imagine a swirling energy of energy from the galaxies and the deepest,
Most fiery energy of Mother Earth,
Swirling and mixing in your heart space,
Engaging with the energy that is uniquely you,
Awakening and enlivening the essence of who you are and all that you will become.
Infinite energy mixing and swirling,
Reminding you that you have endless infinite energy to draw from below you,
Above you,
Within you.
And with these incredible,
Beautiful,
Wondrous connections,
You feel the expansive,
Infinite part of your essence,
Reminding you of who you deeply,
Truly are.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Imagine your breath being centered in your heart,
Your heart expanding on the inhale,
Releasing and letting go on the exhale.
Let's take a few breaths from this heart space.
And as we breathe from heart space,
Connected with this infinite,
Beautiful energy,
As you breathe in,
Imagine it trickling out through your whole body,
Into your arms,
Into your face,
Down into your feet,
Right out into your fingertips.
With every exhale,
You let it release into your body,
Out through your being,
Out through every cell and pore of your body,
Awakening,
Cleansing,
Revitalizing all the cells of your being.
You can stay as long as you like in this breathtaking,
Energy-infusing breathing pattern.
And when you're ready,
You can wiggle your fingers,
Wiggle your toes,
Slowly allow yourself to open your eyes and re-engage with what's around you.
Notice how you feel after that meditation.
Anchor into the difference between how you felt at the beginning and how you feel now.
Come back and enjoy this refreshing meditation anytime,
At any point,
In any day.
