Closing your eyes,

Recalling a time when we felt like we were that mouse on a wheel,

Going and going,

Getting nowhere,

Your life really not having much meaning,

And the pain of that.

And so you take that small suffering one into your heart,

Your own suffering self,

And you breathe in that suffering in the form of those dense,

Heavy,

Sticky clouds.

Breathe those clouds in through your heart,

Taking away that suffering.

And then on the exhale,

That surrounding heart breathes the bright,

Glowing,

Spacious clouds into that suffering one,

Bringing joy,

Happiness,

Satisfaction.

And take a few breaths.

And see that suffering one's face change to a smile.

Perhaps there's somebody we can think of who's leading a rather meaningless existence.

They aren't really finding the satisfaction of a meaningful life.

They may or may not be aware of that lack of satisfaction,

That missing.

But somehow there is suffering nonetheless.

And so that we breathe that suffering into our hearts.

And on the exhale,

We send them the bright,

Sparkling,

Spacious clouds of ultimate happiness,

Satisfaction,

Always.

.

.

.

And now we think of more people,

Maybe people we run into in the course of the day.

Maybe a server at a restaurant or someone we saw on the street.

Someone we know in our lives.

And we somehow suspect that they have this suffering.

We don't want them to have this suffering.

We want them to be happy.

We want them to be relieved of this suffering and therefore have a meaningful life and be ultimately happy.

And so we breathe for them.

.

.

Again,

Keeping the in breath and out breath even equal.

Yes,

It's satisfying to take away the suffering and it's also satisfying to bring them ultimate happiness forever.

And seeing their face change.

Now maybe we can think of whole swaths of people who are leading lives that they probably don't find satisfying and meaningful.

Perhaps it's people who show up at bars.

Or dating on Tinder,

Looking,

Looking for something that they're not really finding.

All kinds of parts of humanity who are experiencing this kind of pain,

The lack of meaning.

We breathe for all of them.

.

And then we step it out one more rung to all beings.

Everywhere.

Who are going around in circles,

Wandering in samsara.

The cycle of action and result,

Lifetime after lifetime,

Is called korwa in Tibetan,

Which means going around.

It's known as cyclic existence.

And so we feel the suffering of everyone who doesn't necessarily want to keep going around and around in this.

But who doesn't have the tools to leave it.

We've just been given some tools to begin waking up out of this dream.

And so all the more,

We want to breathe for everyone who is suffering from this and who have absolutely no tools to help themselves out of this dream.

And so we breathe for everyone.

And so on the out breath,

As we imagine those bright,

Spacious clouds going out in all directions to everyone,

Contained on those clouds is not only ultimate happiness and joy.

But waking up.

Because that will bring us to experiencing the whole ocean,

The very nature of which is happiness and joy.

And so we breathe again.

And imagining that now everyone is fully awake and fully joyful.

We tune in to the whole ocean,

Opening our eyes,

Gazing downward.

And focusing on the whole ocean all the way to its depths.

And so we breathe again.

And then we breathe again.

And then we breathe again.
