If you struggle with poor eating habits and find yourself eating the wrong foods to feel better,

When you are emotional and can't cope,

This meditation will help you to create subconscious change,

Where you will make healthier choices to nourish,

Love and respect your body,

To experience more energy and more vitality in your life.

Find a comfortable position,

You might be in a chair to support your back,

On a mat,

On a bed or even the sofa.

Wherever you are,

Take a deep breath in and breathe out,

Relaxing down all the way down.

Breathe in again and breathe out slowly and you may like to close down your eyes and relax.

And allow your muscles to release and let go of all the known and unknown tension and stress in your body.

Freeing your mind of all distractions.

Sooner or later,

You might notice parts of your body move or twitch all by itself,

Or perhaps not move at all.

It's only important to sense fully whatever feelings and sensations develop and to experience what you experience and go wherever you go.

Nobody wants anything from you right now.

Not even your thoughts don't want anything from you.

All you need to do is focus on being here,

Where you are,

Right now in this moment and rest in this stillness.

Simply follow along and tune in wherever you are.

There's no right or wrong way,

No right or wrong response.

Just a time to come back to yourself as you are right at this moment and relax with every breath you take.

And as you continue resting comfortably,

You can rest assured that your body knows how to breathe itself and will continue to do so.

And with each breath you take,

You can become more aware of the natural rhythm of your breath and feelings of comfort that develops through your body as you relax deeper and deeper.

That's right.

As you listen to the sound of my voice,

Any background noise will simply relax you even further.

And the more you're distracted by the noise around you,

The more you'll go into relaxation,

Just letting the sounds around you fade into the background.

And you know,

Some people say they can enjoy a deep state of relaxation easily and effortlessly,

Simply by following the breath along with my voice and just letting go,

Letting go.

And I don't know how quickly you can go into deep relaxation or how will the quality of the relaxation be?

I wonder if you'll notice nothing is important right now except enjoying that feeling of relaxation flowing throughout your body.

And you can feel that wonderful state of relaxation.

Can you not?

That's right.

You might begin to appreciate that you have a conscious mind and an unconscious mind and your unconscious mind knows more about what you can do than your conscious mind does.

And if your unconscious mind knows more than your conscious mind does,

Then you probably know more about what you can do than you think.

And you might find you are unconsciously aware of the resources you need to achieve your goals and desires and that you can make your unconscious conscious.

You have all the skills to easily and effortlessly allow your unconscious to soak in any and every positive suggestion,

Thought or idea that I offer you.

While you just drift off more and more comfortably into the space of comfort and relaxation.

That's right.

And these suggestions will travel deep inside you,

Deeply,

So profoundly and have such a lasting impression that they will be deeply ingrained in your unconscious mind.

And as these suggestions sink deeply into your unconscious mind,

They will become a permanent part of your everyday life.

Influencing how you think,

Feel and ultimately the way you operate your entire being and live your life.

It's all up to you,

Is it not?

That's right.

All you need to do is relax,

Relax with every breath you take,

Allowing the breath to relax you all the way down into the comfort.

Relax,

Sinking deeper and deeper down into relaxation and simply rest on your breath.

Rest and relax,

Deeply relaxed into the comfort.

Rest,

Rest and relax and relax.

Deeper,

Deeper and deeper and deeper.

And as you drift down deeper and deeper into relaxation,

Your mind has become open and receptive to everything that you hear,

To everything that I say and to every positive suggestion.

Your subconscious mind will be listening intently to any and all the suggestions that are for the benefit of your health and well-being.

These suggestions will travel so deep and have such a lasting impression that they will be deeply ingrained in your subconscious mind.

And as these suggestions sink deeply into the unconscious part of your mind,

They will become a permanent part of your everyday life,

Influencing the way you think,

The way you feel and the way you eat to nourish your body.

For a while now,

I know that you have been using food to cope with negative feelings,

Whether these feelings are a result of sadness,

Loneliness,

Boredom,

Depression,

Anger,

Frustration or anxiousness,

It really doesn't matter.

The simple fact is that if you eat when you are not hungry,

It will take so much longer for you to lose any excess body fat.

That's right,

If you turn to food for comfort whenever you feel a little let down,

Then as you already know,

The comfort is only very short lived,

For it really does not solve any long-term problems.

What you are doing is punishing yourself and feeding the negative emotions further.

Deep down,

You are aware of this,

For if food provided a real source of comfort,

Then you would feel on top of the world and those feelings would last for a long,

Long time.

Instead,

Emotional eating simply compounds your issues by creating excess weight that you really don't need or want,

Making you feel even worse.

You are beginning to realize,

You begin to realize that eating when your emotions are not feeling good is just a temporary distraction and so you begin to look for healthier ways of distracting yourself.

You have already started because you are listening right now and perhaps you can begin to write your feelings and thoughts in a journal,

Knowing that this will help to get them out of your head.

And perhaps you may even recognize and identify the triggers that used to make you eat for comfort.

Or instead of turning to the cupboards or fridge,

You might pick up the phone and call a close friend or a relative for support.

And by sharing your problems,

You may find that they instantly seem far less significant.

Talking on the phone is also a welcome distraction from food and it isn't polite to eat and talk the same time,

So you find yourself forgetting about that trip to the cupboard or fridge.

You also decide to clear your fridge and cupboards of junk food,

Clear the cakes,

Biscuits,

Chocolates and crisps and instead you substitute them for healthy snacks,

Fresh fruit,

Vegetables,

Nuts,

Low fat foods that are there in times between meals when you are genuinely hungry.

And because you have made a new decision to change,

From now on you're becoming more aware of the signals you get from your stomach,

How your stomach communicates about hunger.

Every time you think you feel hungry,

You pause and think about what your stomach is telling you.

Your stomach might signal anxiety,

Anger,

Disappointment,

Whatever the negative emotion is.

You can learn to tell the difference when you notice that your stomach is trying to say something,

When you notice a feeling in your stomach,

A sensation.

You carefully check on what the message is before you take food from the fridge or from the cupboard,

Before you raise food or drink to your mouth,

You check if you are actually hungry or if it is a feeling of discomfort.

You always ask yourself,

Is it hunger or is it actually negative emotions?

And if the result is that you are not feeling genuinely hungry,

Then you put the food away.

You listen to your body now,

You take care of your body and if you do not need to eat,

Then you do not eat and that makes you feel better and feeling better lets you manage your own eating.

You have had enough of emotional eating,

You have had enough of punishing your body with excess eating of wrong foods,

So you find yourself exploring other activities to make you feel good.

Take a moment to see all the things you will be doing as you feel happier,

More in control of your eating routine.

You have so many choices in life as you accept yourself as the wonderful,

Unique human being that you are,

Loving your body and what goes into it.

Treating it with respect by eating only small amounts of healthy food and exercising and moving your body as much as you can.

See what you see as this new version of you.

Hear what you hear,

Feel what you feel,

Now you know there are plenty of other things for you to do with your time to honour and respect yourself.

Now that you have started on this change,

You recognise anytime when you feel down,

When you feel angry,

Disappointed,

There are many things that happen.

That cause you to feel low and upset.

This is a part of life.

And when those things do happen,

Will happen,

You have a plan and you might say to yourself,

Something is affecting my mood and so I get curious about it,

But I don't let it get to me.

Feelings have nothing to do with food.

I do not let my feelings affect who I am.

The feelings will pass.

That's right and I will remain in control and succeed.

And even if I do eat stupidly once,

That is okay because I have a plan,

Not a diet.

I have a lifestyle,

Not a fad.

And that means I can let it go.

Let the unwanted behaviour of stuffing my face with food go.

And instead,

I decide to keep on healthy eating or do an activity or call and talk to someone.

And this is how everything balances out.

You begin to put everything into creating a richer,

Happier and more fulfilling lifestyle for yourself.

You can do everything you ever wanted to do plus so much more.

You no longer link emotions with eating.

You eat merely when you are hungry and to nourish and nurture your body.

Your life is becoming so much more fulfilling that you have no need to eat just for the sake of it.

You are more mindful of what,

When and how you are eating.

Imagine now that you're eating a healthy meal to nourish,

Love and respect your body.

Notice how as you only eat healthy,

Nutritious foods,

How they taste so much better than junk food.

How healthy,

Nutritious food is self-loving and makes you feel proud and pleased with yourself.

You're drinking and eating more slowly and feeling far more satisfied inside because of this new decision to eat only when you are hungry and only to nourish and nurture your body.

And it is because you're not eating when you are emotional that you find you have more energy,

More vitality and you begin to move your body and exercise more.

You really do enjoy using your body and the more you move and use your body,

The stronger,

Fitter and healthier your body becomes.

Imagine you can see yourself in the mirror now,

Having lost all the excess body fat,

Looking slimmer,

Firmer,

Toned and glowing with health and vitality.

Notice what you are wearing and how everything looks so good on your wonderful,

Slimmer body.

How good does it feel?

Your body and your mind now meet with your own approval and you are grateful for making the decision to change your way of thinking and feeling that you cut the link between those negative,

Emotional thoughts and eating.

You trust your body and it trusts you.

When you love your body,

It loves you back.

I'd like you now to take a deep breath and exhale.

Take another deep breath in,

Hold it and as you exhale,

Allow any stress,

All the negative emotions and anxiety to leave your body.

That's it.

Let go and free yourself.

Take another deep breath in and imagine only positive energy coming into your body.

Your awareness about emotional eating has grown and as you exhale,

Feel relaxed,

Calm and relieved.

This is your new way to think about eating.

When you think of eating,

You will remember that food nourishes your body.

Just as a beautiful rose needs sunshine and rain,

Eating healthy,

Nourishing food gives you strength and energy to achieve your daily activities.

You are now able to allow yourself to think of eating as a wonderful way to be healthy and well nourished.

You are able to see yourself free of the anxiety,

The negative emotions as a punishing behavior from the past.

You have let that go.

You now give yourself the permission to be nourished,

Healthy and strong.

You are in control of the emotions and what you eat and you feel happy and positive.

Enjoying the opportunity to feed and nourish your body,

Becoming a healthier and stronger you.

Every day,

You're moving closer and closer to this new image of yours.

Each and every time you choose to eat healthy,

You feel the loving kindness to yourself,

To that beautiful inner child that you love and nurture.

Every day,

You're more determined and motivated to achieve your goal because it feels good.

You and your body work in harmony with one another and now instead of eating to fill an emotional void,

You find more constructive ways of dealing with your feelings.

And in return,

You see a new happier and healthier you.

This new way gives you the confidence,

Strength and success you need to live a life of health.

That's right,

You put this new healthy outlook into practice every day of your long,

Healthy and happy life.

And these suggestions are firmly embedded in your unconscious mind and grow stronger and stronger day by day,

Hour by hour,

Minute by minute.

Every time you listen to this track,

These suggestions become stronger and stronger.

In a moment,

I'll count from one up to five.

At the count of five and not before,

Your eyes will open.

You're feeling control and energized,

Feeling wonderful in every way.

One,

Becoming consciously more alert throughout your body.

Two,

Coming back to the space around you,

Bringing with you all the new learnings.

Three,

Feeling calm,

Content and relaxed,

Excited for this new change.

Four,

Feel the energy,

Motivation and confidence flowing to you from every direction.

Number five,

Open your eyes,

Feeling relaxed,

Calm,

In control and eating healthy meals to nourish,

Love and respect your body.
