Closing your eyes either fully or partially.
And taking a few deep breaths.
Just allowing your your being to settle.
Maybe noticing your body relax down,
Get heavier with each out breath.
And feeling your shoulders relax down,
Your jaw,
The muscles around your eyes in your forehead,
Your throat,
Your diaphragm,
Your belly.
Maybe you're tightening the muscles in your thighs or in your pelvic area.
Inviting your muscles to relax.
We're not requiring them.
We're not forcing them to relax.
We're simply offering them an invitation that they might like to accept even if just for a moment.
Almost as if you're feeling a warm wash of release moving down through your body.
Allowing your body to be heavier,
To settle,
To sink further into the surface below you,
Further into the earth if you like.
Feeling what it's like to have this body that is naturally pulled to the earth by gravity.
Naturally moving toward being grounded in every moment.
It's almost as if we have to work to be ungrounded.
The natural state is to be heavy,
To land,
To arrive on the earth.
And then bringing to mind something in your experience,
Something in your life right now.
Where there's a sense of uneasiness,
A sense of tension,
Maybe a sense of confusion,
Overwhelm,
A sense of clinging,
Striving.
Something in your experience that is causing you some stress right now,
Causing some some rumination,
Some anxiety.
Something unresolved in your experience.
Noticing how it feels in your body when you bring this part of your life to mind.
Where do you feel the tension around this situation?
What's the quality of any tension or stress that you're feeling in your body?
Allowing yourself to be a little curious,
Kindly curious.
Notice in the way you might tenderly look to a baby or a puppy or a kitten wondering what's happening there?
What's going on?
You really want to know.
Bringing a very gentle curiosity to your experience.
You might even imagine that you're holding that experience very tenderly in your hands.
You're nurturing that place in your body.
You're aware of how painful that is or the stress of feeling unresolved or confused.
Bringing a larger,
Wise,
Compassionate part of yourself.
Maybe a sense of a higher self or a sense of the compassionate parent in you.
The wise woman.
The healer in you.
Getting in touch with her.
And holding this experience of yours.
The way a wise elder,
A kind wise elder would hold this experience.
Coming from this wise part of yourself.
Seeing if you can see the part of this experience where something could be released.
Something could be let go of.
Something that's not serving you anymore.
What is it that could be let go of in this situation?
Are you holding on to something that it's painful to hold on?
Maybe you're holding on out of fear of the alternative.
If you're identifying something that you could release,
Knowing that you don't have to release it,
Just identifying it.
It's a really wonderful piece of information,
Piece of wisdom.
Knowing that releasing can cause sadness,
Sorrow,
Grief,
Letting go of something we've been hanging on to.
Acknowledging that is a very natural part of the process of moving through a situation.
Allowing yourself to be aware of what the sadness or the grief might be if you let go of this thing.
Honouring that.
If you feel that you'd like to release something,
You are ready to let go of something.
Ready to open your hand rather than clench your hand.
You're ready to let something fall away or you're ready to leave something behind.
If that feels like the right thing to do,
Then you might like to do that.
Doing that in whatever way makes sense to your being.
Whatever symbolic or ritual or internal process needs to happen to leave that behind to release that.
And really acknowledging the sadness that there is in releasing that.
The grief,
The loss.
But knowing that this is something you're ready to let go of.
If that's the case,
No need to force anything.
Staying in touch with your body as you're moving through this work.
Noticing how your body's feeling.
Noticing sensations in your body.
Noticing any changes in your body.
And then allowing some space.
Being curious about what is there in the place where this piece that you let go of used to be.
Have you uncovered something?
Has something become apparent?
Is there something new now in your experience?
Maybe there's not and that's okay.
But just being open,
Being curious about what's in this space.
When you release that old piece.
Is there an image?
Is there a sensation in your body?
Is there a word?
A colour?
Tuning into your body again,
Noticing any changes in your body.
If there are no changes,
It's not a problem.
There's no particular way you should feel right now.
This is all simply an exploration.
Being curious.
Maybe you even want to tune in to your wise self,
Your large,
Wise,
Compassionate self.
Is there something she can point out to you?
Is there something she wants to say?
Tuning in again to your body,
Your internal landscape,
Your emotional landscape.
Is there anything else that needs to happen here?
Is there anything you're taking with you?
Is there anything new for you?
Maybe there's a sense of hope,
Creativity.
Maybe there's a dream moving forward.
And then as long as you feel complete in that internal process,
Returning to an awareness of your breathing when you feel ready to do that,
Anchoring your awareness in your breathing.
And then moving your awareness out to your limbs,
Your arms,
Your legs.
Maybe starting to move your fingers,
Your toes,
Your wrists,
Your ankles,
Your shoulders,
Your torso,
Getting in touch with the physicality of your body.
When you're ready,
Gently opening your eyes,
Taking your time,
Having a stretch,
A sip of your drink.
Maybe looking around the space that you're in,
Just to reorient yourself to the space that you're in.
