Welcome.

Today I'm going to be talking about journaling.

What is journaling and how do I start?

Spoiler alert,

There really is no specific rule or criteria for how or when you're supposed to journal.

You can just journal when and as you need to for you.

You can journal when you're happy,

When you're upset,

When you're distraught,

When you're excited,

When you're overwhelmed,

When you're grateful,

When you're hurt,

When you're confused,

When you're proud.

So really whatever you're feeling,

Whenever you're feeling it,

I say write it down.

You might think back to when you were a kid and you had a diary and you think,

Oh well I outgrew that.

But really there's nothing to outgrow.

There's nothing to be embarrassed of.

Recording is a natural part of life and it's super important.

Even though we are in a digital age and you can obviously grab your phone and jot down in the notes section whenever you're inspired by something or have a thought or idea or a goal in mind,

It is still super important to grab a pen and paper and write down what you're thinking,

What you're feeling,

And put your words,

Your own words into your own handwriting and just watch the words flow.

There's really nothing like it.

It'll make it that much more personal.

It'll make it that much more real when you go to read back and it'll make your goals and your to-do's that much more attainable,

That much more easily manifested because they're in your words in your handwriting.

So step by step,

Little by little,

Just get into that habit of when something sparks your interest,

Something sparks your motivation,

Something sparks your creative juices,

Write it down.

Like I said,

Whether it's digital,

Even if it is audio,

But definitely if you can write it down,

Pen and paper,

Old school,

It'll be that much more helpful.

Journaling in general is a super helpful tool,

Especially when it comes to writing about your personal life,

Your experiences.

You get to learn about why you are the way you are.

You'll notice patterns.

You'll notice your growth.

You'll notice all different kinds of things about yourself and why you are the way you are.

You'll be able to sift through things now.

You'll be able to look back and reflect and recognize different things within you.

And you'll be able to live on for generations.

It's a really special thing to be able to record and to be able to share,

Especially if you are comfortable sharing any journal entries or any quotes that you have,

You never know who you're going to be inspiring.

So definitely from time to time,

It's important to sit with yourself in your own company with your own handwriting and just let the words flow.

I'll definitely be providing some journaling prompts along the way to help you reflect on different experiences and different traits and all that good stuff.

But in the meantime,

Just get into the habit of either pulling out your phone,

Jotting in the notes section when you're inspired,

Grabbing a pen and paper,

Clear your mind,

You know,

With all those to do's and all these different goals that we have,

Especially with so much going on in these times.

It's important to clear the mind.

It's important to clear the soul.

And just write,

Just journal,

Just record.

There's really no manual we can give each other.

Obviously,

You're always welcome to research all the different kinds of journals,

Whether it's a gratitude journal,

A bullet journal,

A planner,

A diary,

Like I mentioned before,

Whatever works best for you.

You just got to practice.

You got to figure it out.

And just keep writing.

That's the key to it is write it out.

Whatever you're feeling,

Whatever you're thinking,

Whatever goals you have,

Whatever visions you have,

Write it out and journal.

I'll talk to you next time.
