Welcome to Wonder Ball.

How are you doing?

This is day 28 of our mindfulness in isolation course.

The last one.

So I want to send you off with something really useful.

The ability to trust.

A confidence in your ability to be okay.

Like many of the qualities we've explored,

Trust is something that can be cultivated.

So let's start with the breath.

We trust our breath.

It comes and goes reliably.

Without any effort from us.

Just like our heart keeps pumping.

Our bodies are trustworthy.

We are trustworthy.

We're gonna do the rest of this exercise lying down.

Pause if you need some more time to get ready.

Now take a deep breath in and breathe out tension.

Take particular notice the muscles in your face and relax them.

Are you holding on to tension around your jaw or around your eyes?

Let go.

This is a kind of surrender.

It requires trust.

Okay now imagine that you are on a beautiful beach.

It's a perfect warm day and you're walking slowly into the calm sea.

The water is up to your ankles and rising with each step.

Slowly it reaches your knees and moves up your thighs to your hips and your waist.

Now imagine yourself lying back to float in the ocean on your back.

You can feel the warm Sun on your face and your body is gently rocked by waves rhythmically rolling by.

Feel each wave as it undulates under your body.

Let go and trust that you are safe here.

Check in again with the muscles in your face.

Let go and just relax.

And now bring the word trust into your mind.

How does it make you feel?

Just lie here with that feeling for a moment.

By learning to embrace the present moment we learn to trust more.

We're learning to flow with life and not struggle against it.

As you lie here on your imaginary ocean under the bright warm Sun try to just trust that everything you need to be happy is already a part of you.

Trust that things will be okay.

Different but okay.

One day at a time.
