Hello,

Hello,

Welcome to another episode of the Embodying Greatness podcast.

My name is Krista Elgato,

And today we're going to explore a concept that has the power to transform relationships,

Your personal growth,

Businesses,

A whole slew of things,

You name it,

This topic is going to give you the power to transform any relationship.

The topic today is reciprocity.

Now you may have heard about reciprocity before,

But today we're going to look at it through the lens of transformation specifically.

And I want to emphasize the significance of reciprocity in achieving lasting success and deepening connections.

So Tony Robbins says the secret to living is giving.

And if you want to be rich,

Then give.

If you want to be happy,

Make others happy.

So reciprocity at its core is the principle of mutual exchange.

It's the idea that when you give,

You receive.

Pretty simple concept,

But it's not always easy.

And this exchange forms the basis of how successful relationships can be,

Whether it's professional or personal.

I believe that by understanding and leveraging reciprocity,

We can unlock huge potential.

So let's start with exploring the power of giving or the power of being a giver.

If you are into personal development or transformation,

If you think about what it's like,

The experience of life that you have when people are giving to you or when you are giving to other people,

It's very uplifting.

You know,

We have experiences of feeling seen,

Being heard,

Feeling significant,

Feeling fulfilled,

Feeling loved,

Having kindness,

All of the things,

Connection,

Compassion,

All of those ways of being usually are things that we embody when we're either giving or when we're allowing someone to give to us.

So let's talk about the impact of contributing to other people without expecting something in return.

Now,

Whether that's offering something like support,

Sharing knowledge,

Lending a supportive hand,

The act of giving creates a positive ripple effect.

And I don't think that can be disputed by anyone.

And here's the thing.

And we all know this.

The more that you give,

The more that you have.

And I know that that sounds counterintuitive,

But it's a universal principle.

Think about what it would be like if we approach life with a mindset of being generous or abundant.

We not only enhance our own well-being,

But also we open the door to unexpected opportunities and connections.

When you give,

And this is something that Preston Smiles says all the time,

And I'm going to repeat this,

And I say this in the training all the time because it really lands for me and I hope it lands for you.

You cannot give from an empty cup,

But you can give from the overflow.

That's speaking about generosity.

That's speaking about abundance.

When you're giving from your overflow,

It prevents you most of the time from even wanting anything back or specifically expecting anything back in return.

But knowing then reciprocity as a universal law really has you trust that the more that you give,

The more that you're going to receive.

And of course,

Let's bring up Martin Luther King.

He is a man who really got it about the giving.

He understood what it meant to be in service and that being in service is a pure way to live,

Is the way to create joy and peace on this planet.

So reciprocity is not just about material exchanges by no means.

It also is about building genuine connections,

Genuine relationships.

Let's not forget the importance of connecting with other people on a personal level.

When we invest our time and effort and energy in understanding other people and what they're going through and providing value to their lives without anything in return,

We're supporting and creating a foundation of trust and mutual respect.

So if you want to see the quality of your relationships,

Look at the quality of life or look at the quality of the relationship that you have with yourself.

When I talk about this,

I picture like an infinity symbol.

One of the things that we say in the trainings is that everything comes from us through us and to us.

So it comes from us,

We channel it,

Goes through us,

And it comes back to us.

That's the cycle of abundance right there.

By practicing reciprocity in relationships,

We create,

We nurture,

We foster supportive networks that can elevate not only our personal growth,

But our professional life as well.

So no matter what you're doing,

If you're an entrepreneur or you're a team leader or you're a teacher or you're a coach or you have one of those roles in the world,

Understanding the dynamics of giving and receiving is the key to your success.

However you define success,

Because success then becomes the outcome or the byproduct.

It's just simply the result because the value you're giving and the relationships that you're creating,

That's all the juice right there.

The success is just simply the outcome because the fulfillment that you receive in creating value,

In giving value,

In creating those relationships,

Fostering those relationships,

The fulfillment that you're creating is then the state of being,

Which is brilliant.

Fulfillment is a state of being.

Success is merely the outcome.

All of that is available to you when you really step into reciprocity.

So I'm going to encourage you wherever you are,

Whatever you're doing,

Whether it's with your family,

Whether it's with your colleagues,

Whether you are a coach or you're a teacher,

You have students,

You have clients,

Whatever it is,

When you focus on providing value,

Then again,

We not only strengthen our professional reputation,

But also attract opportunities for growth and collaboration.

And in my world,

That's what this is all about,

Collaborating,

Connecting,

Creating that tipping point in transformation.

So as we're wrapping up today's episode,

Let's reflect back on what we're saying here and by embracing the principle of giving without expectation,

Fostering authentic relationships and applying reciprocity in all of our endeavors,

Whatever they are,

Professional or personal,

We can create a rich life of fulfillment and success.

And then once we step into fulfillment as a state of being,

Then of course,

We're going to achieve success as the outcome.

So thank you for joining me today.

I hope you enjoyed it and learned something new.

Until next time,

Let's keep learning and growing and exploring the world around us.

And remember,

You are in charge of your happiness,

So go out and create something amazing today just because you say so.
