Welcome to Prepare Your Attention by Kirsten Doesle,

Still Potential When our attention is scattered and fragmented,

It is difficult to be fully attentive and open.

This short process can be performed at any time,

Anywhere.

It is more a process than a meditation.

Begin by noticing your physical body,

Releasing any areas of tension.

Check into the spots that you often hold tightness and allow softening.

Choose a breath that feels easy.

Make sure to let the breath out completely.

Then allow your body to breathe in.

Continue to allow your body to breathe itself.

Now check in with your mental activity.

View your thoughts as if they are on a screen in front of you.

You may be juggling many thoughts at present,

These thoughts in the way of your clear view and focus.

Deliberately catch one thought and decide if you can temporarily or perhaps even permanently close it.

Finish with it.

You may become aware as you look with clarity at this thought that it is actually unhelpful,

Perhaps not true.

And so just like the junk mail,

You can discard it.

This is like clearing the desk of your mind.

Take the next thought that is in the way of your open,

Clear mind.

It may be something that you do need to keep alive.

Acknowledge that and imagine minimising the screen of this one,

Not discarded,

Just put to the side.

If you really need to,

You may wish to jot it down.

Do this process for all the sticky thoughts that are vying for attention at this moment.

They may be easy to release thoughts that come and go and they will clear when you ignite desire and interest.

I will be silent now while you deliberately and kindly notice thoughts that are distracting you from clarity and either choose to discard them or to minimise them to return to later.

Notice a sense of alert,

Aware,

Spacious readiness.

This is similar to the state of mind you may be in at the start of a movie or performance that you are keen to watch.

Relaxed,

Attentive and interested.

Next time you experience that with ease,

Notice it deliberately and log how it feels in your body and your mind for future reference.

A sense of clear,

Stable,

Aware anticipation.

Enjoy.

You can ready yourself for full attention.

Thank you.
