In our prior session,

We took the first step by exploring and discovering silence.

We began with a very simple but life-changing practice we can begin to cultivate into our daily lives,

No matter where we are or what our life circumstances may be.

This simple practice of returning to silence,

Even if for just a few brief moments each day,

Allows us to return to the spacious stillness within,

Which is at the core essence of who we are.

As we make this a daily ritual for our well-being,

At the beginning and end of each day,

We return to a stillness within and create a spaciousness around us that expands and expands.

This can offer a peaceful buffer between us and the often chaotic nature of the world around us.

So in our first practice,

We began with three minutes of silence.

If you are new to this practice,

Perhaps three minutes seemed like an eternity.

As you continue to cultivate this daily practice,

Time will cease to exist.

In today's practice,

We will sit together in the space of silence for ten minutes,

Building upon our first step.

As we continue on this journey together,

Begin to carve out a time first thing in the morning where you begin your practice of sitting in silence for ten minutes and then again in the evening.

So let us begin by settling into a comfortable seated or lying down posture.

Really allow yourself to relax into that space and allow your breath to naturally slow down and lengthen.

Let your eyes gently come to a close.

The sound of the bell will begin our space of silence.

The second bell will close our time.

The third bell will close our time.

Sometimes it is easy to forget we need silence, my grand mother always said time goes quicker as we age and it must as this 10 minutes went quickly. Thank you for reminding me to be still and quiet.
