Hello and welcome.
We're going to start by taking a few slow breaths together and today we're exploring themes of how and where we ever picked up that we were not enough.
We're going to explore how we can decide for ourselves what enough means and we're going to notice in our lives where we are already enough.
So find a comfortable seated or lying down position whatever feels right for you and first just settle in.
Closing your eyes and letting the corners of them drop softly away.
Relaxing your forehead.
Unclenching your jaw.
If you feel any tightness in your neck or your shoulders,
You're welcome to do a big roll up,
Back and down just dropping them away.
Bringing your awareness to your chest and your belly.
With every breath seeing if you can just soften even further into the moment.
Now gently bringing your awareness to your breath and just noticing what is the cadence like?
Is it shallow or is it deep?
How do you feel?
Are you calm in this moment?
Are you looking forward?
Breathe from all the anxiety of the world,
The busyness outside.
Just noticing where you are right now.
Now let's take a slow breath together.
Empty your lungs,
Let all of that air go and just take a gentle breath in through your nose as slow as you possibly can.
It's okay if you feel your chest constricted or your breath shallow and now right away just gently open your mouth and sigh as you let it all go.
Let's do that two more times.
A slow breath in,
Seeing if you can even inch that air a little bit wider through your chest.
Pausing for a moment,
Just softening into it and then part your lips and sigh that breath away.
Nice.
One more time.
Slow breath in.
There's nowhere to get to.
There's no way to perfect this or do it any better than where you are right now.
Pausing for a moment and then open mouth.
Sigh.
Just let it go.
Beautiful.
Now feel free to continue to watch your breath or just notice it or you can completely let that go out of your awareness.
I wonder when it was that I ever picked up the notion that I needed to keep striving,
To keep going,
To keep hustling for my worth.
Take your memory back to a moment when you were a child,
When you were free,
Expressive and wild.
I imagine you were not reaching for your worth in this moment.
I imagine you weren't concerned with what others thought or what others were saying.
Or what others were doing at that same time.
How is it that we can so easily find ourselves in spaces of comparison,
All wanting to feel the same thing,
To feel worthy,
To feel acknowledged,
To feel valued.
When did it happen?
That split,
That moment that told us that our inherent value was in the hands of someone outside of ourselves.
When did that happen?
It may be that you have an exact moment where you remember this new way of thinking or being,
Entering your experience.
Or maybe it was just a gradual mist that over time took over.
I find myself oftentimes these days wondering who am I actually competing against and what am I actually competing for.
Because oftentimes as I try to keep up with algorithms and insta stories and social media platforms and content,
I feel as if I look around and no one else is there.
It truly is between me and me.
And yet we can so easily forget this.
We can so easily feel that we are in this race.
To what end?
Where will we get to?
And when we get there,
What are we expecting to experience?
I know from my own personal experience that the moment I achieve something I have set out for,
The high last but moments.
We hear it time and time again that it's the journey to,
It's the journey toward that holds the richness we seek.
And while it is absolutely beautiful,
Important and potent medicine to have something that we are striving for,
That we are working toward,
We must not forget the step we are in now.
Your worth isn't going to be found in followers.
It's just not.
The way our society is built at this time makes us believe that it is.
It leads us to think that if I could just get,
If I could just achieve,
If I could just have,
Then,
Then what?
The most beautiful thing is that you actually get to finish that sentence.
What are you wanting?
What are you wanting to feel?
And why?
Are you wanting to experience more peace,
More joy,
More lightness,
More happiness?
More abundance,
More security?
Are you wanting to have a more dynamic experience?
If so,
There's nothing wrong with that.
But you do not have to feel like you are up against odds in order to experience it.
For me,
The more layers that I shed away,
I realize that the further away I wish to go,
The deeper into myself,
Into the moments of silence,
Into the times at home,
Stuck in my kitchen for hours,
Making whatever I have at hand into some beautiful creation that I then get to enjoy and experience.
That's what I want.
And yet,
I have been led to believe for so long that if I could just learn the proper algorithm,
I would be worth something.
This is your invitation to take a moment and ask yourself,
What do I actually want?
Really,
Truly,
At the core of it,
At the seed of my being,
What do I want?
And once you get to an answer,
Be curious with it for a little while.
Because oftentimes,
The first thing that comes up is more of a conditioned response,
Sort of the guard to what is actually true for us.
So ask,
Is this true?
Let's say your first answer is to have more clients.
Pause.
Ask yourself,
Is this true?
Do I really want more clients?
If so,
Then why?
If I believe more clients will bring me more money,
Well then what will more money bring me?
If I believe more money will bring me more security,
What do I believe more security will bring me?
If I believe more security will give me more agency of choice,
What will more agency of choice bring me?
Keep going like this until you find an end.
And you will know when you hit it,
Because this light will arrive within you.
This,
Oh,
There it is.
Anytime you're feeling stuck or in a cyclone of fury and confusion of what you are supposed to be doing,
Return to this.
Come back to yourself.
Come back to your body.
Because what we really want truly deeply at our core is a lot more simple than what we see oftentimes outside of ourselves.
Take as much time as you need.
If you feel you're in a calmer space,
A more centered space,
A space connected to your knowing,
Your intuition,
Stay right here just a little bit longer and just listen.
Just ask,
What is here for me to know?
And if nothing arises,
Say thank you.
And you can always ask,
What is here for me to let go of?
Because oftentimes we have to shed the layers in order to know what is true.
And all of it is beautiful.
Because every step of it is your journey.
And at the end of the day,
As we always know,
The journey is truly what we're searching for.
Take a deep breath in and just let it go.
Thank you so much for joining me.
Welcome home.
