Enlightenment is a really big word, one I usually try to avoid. But what is it really, what does enlightenment mean and who is an enlightened person? Likely there are many definitions, but here is one of mine - if you think peace is only possible when this comes for you, you are putting off a peace that is available right now. We are all one, we are all free. We suffer because we need healing, not because we need to be enlightened.

Lots of times when I'm working with my students,

I'm reading what feels like in your system.

It feels like I'm reading your patterns and the blueprints and what's moving internally for you.

But for me,

There's no separation.

So it's actually just the field.

I'm just in the field.

What shows up here is an empathy,

More like clairvoyancy and empath-ness,

Is that I'm literally watching just pure source become into form,

Make itself into form.

I'm literally watching that movement arising at any moment.

So what happens is that when you're hurt,

I'm hurting with you,

Except I'm not actually hurt per se.

I'm just in love and that's how it moves.

One time when I first blew my mind and there was just like no filter and I was just pure source watching all this move,

I was so new.

My beautiful friend Christopher was telling me about his dog who had died very recently.

He was telling me about Dakota getting sick and having to take him to the vet and put him down and the ashes when he gathered the ashes and how he scattered them.

It was so beautiful and it was so heartbreaking.

I was looking away because it was just so much,

So,

So,

So much to be with.

He was really mad at me because he wanted me to look at him.

I was just so new at seeing without this filter.

It was like blinding beauty of such an aliveness.

There was just so much life.

It's not bad.

It's so beautiful.

It's heartbreaking and it's alive and really when we're talking about enlightenment,

We're talking about no more filters,

Like nothing to block any information,

Just this pure,

Pure intense aliveness.

We get all of it.

We get all of the grief,

All of the despair,

All of the rage and always,

Always,

Always this beauty,

This joy,

This love that's always present in this pure unfiltered aliveness of it all.

Lots of times when I'm working with my students,

Particularly if there's something really difficult they're going through and I'm more in their system than they are because I have no filters.

So I'm completely riding what they are.

So if the heart is breaking,

The heart is breaking here except there's no,

I'm not hurt in that way.

So when folks tell me they want this,

They want that enlightenment,

I shake my head a little bit because I think maybe not,

Maybe not if you really knew what it was.

But the pointer that's widely spoken about,

About enlightenment being a place of no suffering is actually a pointer and it's part of,

It's a point of view from a really beautiful teaching that's pointing to this vast source,

This vast stillness regardless of the forms it's here and it's pointing to a quality,

That beauty,

That love,

That source is.

But those are really important teachings.

But my work and what I do is I talk about how all of that source lives a life.

I teach you how to bring your innate freedom,

Your innate connection as source into the nitty gritty details of your life.

So I don't work with pointers.

I can afford to be very literal.

And I assure you that with no pure,

No mindedness,

No filters whatsoever,

There is a huge amount of aliveness.

It doesn't take you out of anything.

It puts you so deeply in the middle of it all.

And it's an inevitable movement.

It will happen,

Of course.

Of course,

You're going to come home at some point,

But you're already freedom.

You're already source in a way.

You're not,

Not home.

Of course,

You're home.

You're just having this glorious dream of a life and a body and you can focus on how to unwind that,

Especially any pain and any dysfunction,

All of that suffering that you're feeling inside of you.

You can unwind that and you can let the forms of your life reflect your innate freedom and reflect this love.

Enlightenment is a very big thing.

It puts you right in the middle of a profound amount of aliveness and it costs you everything.

And you don't even know what everything is until that bill comes due.

And then it's a shock,

Is a massive understatement of what everything is.

There is nothing left,

Nothing,

Nothing.

It is literally everything.

And your freedom is possible without that.

Of course,

Of course it is.

Because you're already one.

You're already it.

You're already free.

You just have some really dark conditioning and some patterns that need some support.

But that's what it is to be enlightened in my experience or one of maybe many definitions.

But it's a lot of aliveness.
