I'm gonna talk us into silence.

And we're gonna get still.

So I'm gonna invite you to feel the breath.

There's always breath in your body.

And I love that pointer because it's so out of your control.

You are not breathing this body.

Life is breathing the body.

Scientifically we can say the heart is pumping,

It's being fed by the oxygen.

But that's to miss a whole bunch of the story.

Which is that there is some beautiful life force that lives us.

And it's breathing us right now.

Take a second and very directly experience that.

Which is not gonna come from the mind.

You're gonna have to take your awareness.

You can't think about breath,

You have to directly experience your breath.

The mind says,

I know breath,

I've figured out.

But awareness in this moment can savor breath.

What is it to savor breath?

What is it to savor the breath?

To directly show up for the miracle of it.

Let's move to the sensation in our hands.

Just feeling whatever you can feel,

The air temperature on the skin.

Maybe your fingers are connected and touching each other.

Maybe there's some fabric.

There's an inner life to your hands.

Maybe you can feel the heat.

Maybe you can feel the energetic pulse.

What is it to savor the sensation in your hands?

Let's move to our feet.

Whatever you can be aware of.

There's muscle,

Bones,

Flesh touching it,

Some kind of fabric or texture.

Thoughts want to grab your awareness and it's totally fine when they do.

Just bring your awareness back to the sensations.

There's your feet,

There's the sensation.

Just reconnect.

Let's be aware of our tail bones.

Just whatever you can be aware of,

You're just sitting on them.

And again,

Thoughts want to jump in there and it's totally fine.

Just come back to the sensations in the tail bone.

The thoughts are like,

No,

No,

No,

I'm juicy,

Think about me.

Juicier is the tail bone.

So simple,

Such a relief.

Let's expand our awareness so you can feel the breath and your hands and your feet and your tail bone.

Notice that awareness can do that.

Not from the mind,

Just from awareness.

Just feeling,

Just directly experiencing.

Just savoring the sensations of your body in this moment.

Again,

It's not a problem when thoughts want to jump in.

Just return to your breath,

Return to your hands,

Return to your tail bone.

Let's be aware of the air temperature on the skin.

This is this moment.

And as we bring our awareness to the sensations in this moment,

Don't get caught by the sleepiness.

When the body relaxes and gets a little sleepy,

Awareness is still aware.

Can be aware of the sensations,

The air on your skin.

That sensation is right here,

There's this beautiful fan blowing the sweet air across our skin.

Awareness is a powerful thing.

It's not subtle.

It's here the whole time.

You can't lose awareness.

It's here,

It's here.

It's here,

It's here.

It's here,

It's here.

It's here the whole time.

You can't lose awareness.

Even in deep sleep,

You're still aware.

If someone crawled in the bed beside you,

You'd be aware.

Awareness is here and it's powerful.

Let's be aware of the sounds.

There's a lot of wildlife here.

The sounds are filtering into this room.

What is it to be aware of that?

How many sounds?

What are they saying?

Says the mind.

Awareness just directly experiences it,

Savers it.

It's like no head,

Just being with it,

Just the sounds of it.

What is it to just directly savor the sounds?

If this was your very last moment,

If this was it right here,

Right now,

And you got one last taste of this moment,

Exactly as it is right now,

How would you show up for it?

Savor it.

Savor it.

This is where your life is being lived,

Right here in this moment.

Connect to it.

It's such a sweet relief.

And the heavy sleepiness,

Or the fogginess,

Or the busy mind,

Or the stories,

Or the calculatings,

It's such a sweet relief to just show up here where your actual life is being lived.

This moment,

With these sounds,

With these sensations,

If this was the very last moment for you,

Would you show up for it?

Would you hear it?

Would you feel it?

In and amongst all these sounds is a quietness.

We're used to listening to sound,

But there's this beautiful quiet spaciousness.

It's just the quietest thing here,

And awareness can hear it.

Let your awareness discover it.

The moment your awareness discovers the quietness,

Which is really right between the sounds,

As Eckhart Tolle says,

Something soft happens.

Something sweet happens.

The quietness is here.

And to the mind it sounds like not sound,

But to awareness it's like something vast,

Something very spacious,

Something very familiar,

Something soft,

Something that feels like deep rest,

Not like sleep,

But deep nourishing rest.

See if your awareness can sense it,

And then give yourself into it.

As you connect with it and wander into it,

You can relax the layers,

You can unravel.

You can wander farther in and release,

Release.

Release the stories,

Release your history,

Release the story of your travel,

Release the exhaustion.

You can let them go as you wander into the stillness.

The problem,

The fear,

The story of me.

You can just let it go.

You can have it all back in a minute,

But just for now,

Wander in,

Giving yourself into it.

You lose track of the silence.

It's right here in between the birds,

In between the notes of the guitar,

In between my words.

It's right here.

It's a place of such familiarity,

But such nourishment.

It has you.

That stillness has you.

You are profoundly held there.

It's right here.

You're totally saturated in it.

Every breath you're taking is coming from that silence.

Every sound is coming out of that silence.

Let your awareness connect.

There's something so nourishing and restful for you there.

Risk it.

Risk connecting to it.

Let go of the thinking.

Let go of the sleepy.

Let go of the foggy.

Let go of the problem.

Let go of my history.

Let go of the irritation.

Just shed it as you wander the silence.

It's in your body,

And it's in the room.

Risk it.

Risk connecting to it.

Wander these vast halls,

The spaciousness.

There's no other moment.

This is it,

Right here.

This is your life,

And it's being held in silence.

There's nothing else you have to get,

Or know,

Or figure out.

And this is where peace lives,

Here in the silence.

This is your life,

And it's being held in silence.

Give yourself to this.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

Let it have your weight.

Let it have you.

Give yourself to this.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

Let it have your weight.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

You can't hold out against stillness.

It will come for you.

So just surrender into it now.

It's not something you have to go find.

It's something that awareness notices,

Because you're filled with it.

You're saturated in a field of it.

There's not really a separate me here on a hunt.

There's a massive field of stillness that your awareness is entirely capable of connecting to.

And once making contact,

Something so soft,

So familiar opens.

Something that is like home.

Be interested in that.

Be willing to go there.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

Give as much of yourself to this in this moment that you can.

You can't be separate from the quietness,

From the stillness.

You can't be shut out.

You belong.

It's here to nourish you,

To rest you.

It's home.

It's here to connect you.

You cannot be lost from the silence.

Therefore you do not have to look for it.

You just listen to it.

You give yourself into it.

This is your home.

It's a place of life.

It's a place of your life.

Because it's home,

Because it's your life,

Because you cannot be separate from it,

It is a healing.

And the more you get to know it,

The deeper the healing.

It will heal your body.

It will heal your heart.

It will heal the situations.

It will transform.

But you have to give yourself to it.

You have to be more interested in that silence than your fear.

Than your fatigue.

Than your frustration.

Than your irritation.

Than your story.

You have to be more interested in the quiet.

Just run it now.

Just for this moment.

That has to be what you are most interested in.

In order to come home.

In order to know the healing.

You have to choose it.

In this moment,

If you are willing to unwind into this silence,

To wander the halls,

To give yourself to it,

You will be nourished.

You will be totally supported.

But it's just right here.

It's just in this moment.

This vast field of quiet.

This quietest thing here.

That's the great thing about free choice.

You have a choice.

What do you choose in this moment?

What do you choose in this moment?

There are so many thoughts and stories.

So many little conditions.

It's up to you in this moment.

What do you choose?

Do you follow them?

Or do you follow the silence?

Do you follow the silence?

There's a rich,

Soft,

Nourishing landing for you in that deep,

Deep silence.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

That's the great thing about free choice.

Go deeper.

Go deeper.

The mind says,

This is boring.

The mind says,

I'm exhausted.

The mind says,

So what?

Quiet.

Go deeper.

Choose silence in this moment.

There is something so extraordinary,

So alive,

So nourishing,

So perfect.

It's just the other side of the mind.

You can only go with awareness.

It's courageous.

You have to let the mind go.

You have to give yourself to the quiet.

Just right now.

Just this moment.

How much of yourself can you give?

What do you want?

If you want God,

If you want peace,

You're going to have to give it up.

You're going to have to use awareness to listen to this quiet.

There is something that will so tremendously change you,

Exponentially towards more peace,

More life.

It will free you.

Choose it.

Choose it in this moment.

Go deeper.

Choose silence in this moment.

There is something so extraordinary,

So alive,

So nourishing,

So perfect.

It's just the other side of the mind.

You can only go with awareness.

It's just the other side of the mind.

It's just the other side of the mind.

It's just the other side of the mind.

It's just the other side of the mind.

It's just the other side of the mind.

It's just the other side of the mind.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

What else do you want?

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

In your own time,

Let your awareness come back into your body.

Feeling the breath,

Feeling the sensations.

Just in your own time.

Take your time.

Slowly let your eyes come into the room,

Opening them,

Seeing the colors,

Feeling the air temperature on your skin.

Choose silence.

As you come back into your bodies and into the room,

The silence is not left to you.

You cannot be separate from it.

You are held.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

Choose silence.

This is a man named John Wren Lewis who was in Thailand and was poisoned during an attempted robbery.

He fell into a coma.

When he woke a few days later,

He found that his awareness had been altered.

He writes,

It's all still here.

Both the shining dark void and the experience of myself coming into being out of,

Yet somehow in response to that radiant darkness.

My whole consciousness of myself and everything else has changed.

I feel as if the back of my head has been sawn off so that it's no longer John who looks out at the world,

But the shining dark infinite void that in some extraordinary way is also I.

And what I perceive with my eyes and other senses is a whole world that seems to be coming fresh minted into existence moment by moment,

Each instant evoking the utter delight of behold,

It's very good.

Here,

Yet again,

I am constantly up against a paradox when I try to describe the experience.

Thus,

In one sense,

I feel as if I am infinity,

Far back in sensing of the world.

Yet at the same time,

I feel the very opposite is if my consciousness is no longer inside my head at all,

But out there in the things that I am experiencing.

So we have a number of days to talk together,

And we will talk about consciousness and awareness and what part of yourself you are not giving to God.

Where you hide out.

Together gently you'll expose it so you can come to God,

To consciousness,

To source.

Tonight I thank you.

You've all had a big travel day.

This is a room where people have come from Switzerland,

From Norway,

From Costa Rica,

From Canada.

People have come across the states,

All across the states.

So we will rest.

I totally recognize some of you are,

Your bio time is already Monday afternoon.

But we have this moment,

And we will make the most of this moment.

We will come right out of time and connect over the next seven days.

Tonight it's a lot of travel and it's a new place and it's a new bed.

You may not sleep or you may not sleep soundly.

You may just surface.

Don't worry,

It's okay.

Just let yourself rest.

Don't try to sleep if sleep doesn't come.

Just be where you are.

We will have lots of space to take care of the body and to rest and to sleep.

So go gently on yourself in a new surrounding tonight.

I think that's all for now.

I'm going to wish you all a good night.

I'll see you here tomorrow.

Be still.

Thank you.
