Bringing yourself into a comfortable seated posture.
So your body is upright,
You're able to sit effortlessly,
Still and steady.
Allowing your attention to drop into your seat and drop into your breath.
We're going to bring into our awareness someone we love or even admire.
Or respect.
And we're going to hold that person in our attention.
And the qualities of that person that we love,
Admire or respect.
So these may be aspects of their personality,
Their character,
Their energy.
But we're not going to dwell on the specific qualities.
But we're going to allow those qualities to shine through from the light of awareness in that person.
So beneath the recognized qualities,
Deep within the being of that person,
We can visualize this light of awareness,
This light of beauty.
And through this light of awareness,
Which may come from the heart center of that person,
There is a beautiful effulgence,
There is a radiance,
A quality that is beyond the direct personality or character or role of that person.
But it's an all-pervading beauty that we feel from our own heart center.
And as we bathe in the beauty of this person,
We may start to connect to that radiant quality within our own being.
That inner light of radiance,
Awareness,
Pure consciousness that pervades our being.
That we can feel radiating out from the deepest part of our being to infuse us with a beautiful light.
And as we sit within our own radiant beautiful light that our friend also expresses,
We may bring into our awareness any other person that might arise within your awareness now.
Don't try to think specifically,
But you can allow a person to just naturally pop up.
And then when someone has popped into your awareness,
You're going to sit and visualize that inner radiant light of pure beauty within that person.
Sitting and feeling beyond their personality,
Your relationship with that person.
But allowing yourself to just feel that radiant energy that is pure beauty.
And anytime another being may spontaneously arise within your awareness,
You can hold that being within your attention.
And you can find that inner light.
And that pervasive nature of that inner light that expands through their entire being and beyond their being.
And you can continue just holding any one that arises,
Even if somebody arises who you may have a difficulty with.
It's okay,
Because you are perceiving that person beneath their personality,
Beneath their actions,
And beneath your own personal relationship with them.
You are looking for the divine light within that being.
And you're holding that within your awareness.
So you can allow this light that bathes your whole being,
That bathes each person you have brought into your practice,
To start to expand out from you and each of those people.
You can allow that light to expand to other people you know,
Perhaps briefly touching into the recognition of their own inner radiant light.
People may pop up spontaneously,
Swiftly within your awareness,
But each person is bathed within that inner light of pure beauty.
And you may feel that beauty,
That light spreading out into all the beings that you have ever met in your lifetime.
And then spreading out beyond that into all the beings that are connected to those beings that you have met.
And we may allow this beautiful light of pure awareness to extend from being to being,
From the centre of each being outwards.
Until we feel the whole world bathed in this beautiful light of awareness,
We may allow beautiful scenes to arise in our mind,
Perhaps beautiful places we've visited or seen pictures of.
Without dwelling on the particular location,
Just recognise this field of beauty that is surrounding every area,
Every corner,
Every space of the globe.
And then you may come back to feeling your seat and your breath and your heart centre.
And that inner light of awareness in the heart centre.
And know that that inner light of awareness is continuously present,
Even when we move from this meditation,
That inner light of pure awareness,
Of pure beauty will still be present within your being.
And you may take one or two slower,
Deeper breaths now,
Feeling yourself settling into your body and just placing your hands one on top of the other over the heart centre.
Namaste.
