Come into a position where you feel both comfortable and alert.
This could be lying down,
Maybe you're in a reclined position,
Sitting upright,
Or maybe you have your legs up the wall in an inversion.
Tune into your body and see if you can tell what it needs today.
As you settle in,
Close your eyes or soften your gaze,
Beginning to take this journey inward.
Start to breathe in through the nose and out through the nose.
Notice where you feel the movement of the breath the most.
Perhaps it's in your stomach or the chest,
Or maybe even a gentle lift in the shoulders with every inhale.
As you breathe in,
Think inhale,
And as you breathe out,
Think exhale.
Bring to mind the image of a shaken snow globe with all that energy swirling around.
If you set that snow globe down,
The little snowflakes fall gently to the ground.
Envision your mind as that snow globe,
With all your thoughts as the snowflakes.
Watch as each and every snowflake falls to the ground.
Don't force the snowflakes to the ground.
Let it happen slowly and naturally.
Start to notice the thoughts as they arise.
Pay attention to what the mind is doing.
Maybe your thoughts are planning,
Fantasizing,
Rehashing the past.
Just observe the thoughts that come up.
As you notice the thoughts arising,
Try to let them be.
Not encouraging the thought,
But not pushing it away.
Allow it to be,
And then allow it to gently go on its own,
Like the snowflake gently falling back to the ground.
Then return the focus to the breath,
Patiently awaiting another thought to arise.
Notice it,
Watch it,
Allow it to pass,
And then come back to the breath.
Let go of the snow globe exercise and allow your focus to return to your breath.
Let's go deeper by considering the astrological concept of the 8th house.
In Vedic astrology,
The 8th house regulates areas like death,
Longevity,
And sudden unexpected events.
These can be uncomfortable topics,
But the 8th house asks for you to acknowledge that death exists,
And in response,
For you to be fully alive.
Turn your focus inward and ask yourself,
How can I live my life more fully?
Sit with this question,
Without trying to analyze or think,
And allow any answers to come up from deep within.
How can I live my life more fully?
As you practice tuning in to your intuition,
You may notice that you don't always hear words,
You may have gotten images or impressions,
Or even seemingly random thoughts or memories.
You may not have gotten anything,
Something may come up later.
Take a few breaths to process your experience.
Now listen to the following affirmation,
Allow it to resonate deep within,
And repeat it to yourself.
I am here to live my best life.
I am here to live my best life.
I am here to live my best life.
As we reach the end of today's practice,
Bring the palms together at heart center,
Slightly bowing your head,
And take a moment to reflect on your experience.
