Hello Mamas,
Welcome to this episode of the Meditation Mama podcast.
Today we are doing a meditation to help boost your milk supply.
There's been some really interesting research on how relaxing while you're pumping or nursing can really help boost your milk supply and I wanted to add some visualization and extra layers on top of the relaxation piece to just help boost our milk supply because no matter what your feeding journey is,
It can be tough,
It can be tricky and this is something that I know a lot of us have been requesting so I wanted to create it for you.
We'll begin our practice just by finding a comfortable position.
You could be sitting,
You could be lying down,
You could be with your baby or not.
Just make sure you're in a space where you can relax and feel supported.
Close your eyes if that feels good to you.
Open your shoulders and allow yourself to release any tension you may be carrying around.
Just bring your awareness to your breath,
Noticing the rhythm of your breath and seeing if you can slow it down just a little bit.
As you breathe in,
Feel your body filling with a sense of calm and a soothing energy.
As you exhale,
Let go of any worries or doubts.
Breathe in that relaxation and breathe out any tension.
Bring your awareness to your chest,
Your center of nourishment and care for your little one.
Imagine a gentle warmth in this area and see a soft glowing light radiating from your heart.
This light is your love for your baby and your body's natural ability to nurture and provide.
With each inhale,
Visualize this light growing stronger and warmer,
Spreading through your chest into your shoulders.
Feel your body responding to this warmth and this light,
Opening and softening and getting your body ready to provide what your baby needs.
Know that your body knows what to do and trust that your body is designed for this purpose.
Your body is doing the best that it can and you're doing amazing.
Trust that your body was designed for this purpose and all will be well.
Now take a few big deep breaths in and out,
Feeling the connection between your heart and your baby,
Thinking about how beautiful they are,
How special they are,
Those moments of little snuggles and smiles,
Maybe the smell of their little head.
As you inhale,
Breathe in those feelings of trust for your body and the connection between your body and your baby.
And exhale,
Releasing any doubts about your ability to provide or feed your little one.
Inhaling trust and exhaling worry.
If you're nursing or you're pumping right now,
Just feel this connection between your breath,
Your body and your milk flow.
Maybe you can feel that let down or that tingling sensation.
Feeling the warmth and light in your chest guiding the milk effortlessly flowing to nourish your baby.
Reminding yourself three times,
My body is enough to nourish my baby.
My feeding journey is my own.
As you rest in this moment,
Feeling the connection between your breath,
Your heart,
Your body and your baby.
Know that you are doing an incredible job and your body is fully equipped to meet the needs of your baby.
It's all going to happen the way it's supposed to,
And you are enough.
Your body is enough and you just let the milk flow with ease.
Taking one more deep breath in,
Filling yourself with that confidence and trust and exhaling,
Releasing any of that lingering tension or worry.
When you're ready,
Gently begin to wiggle fingers and toes,
Bringing your awareness back to the space.
Thank you so much for joining me today.
I am sending you so much love on your feeding journey.
