Please make yourself comfortable by either laying down on your back with your spine aligned in a straight line or sit nice and tall with your side waist long,
Your heart lifted and your shoulders and back body nice and soft.
Begin to take a few slow deep breaths and really have the intention to fill the space of your body with not only your breath but your awareness.
Become aware of your body and notice anywhere in the body where you are feeling any kind of tension or any sense of dis-ease and have the intention to relax,
Have the intention to become effortless.
Bring your awareness to the centre of your chest.
Feel the sensation of your heart beating and the breath arising from and falling back into the centre.
Have the intention to keep your presence and awareness firmly rooted in the centre of the heart.
We're moving into the energetic space of the heart or the spiritual heart which is deep in the centre of the chest as opposed to slightly on the left side where we find the physical heart.
Have the intention to relax more and more into the space of your physical body.
Have the intention to drop more and more into the space of your spiritual heart.
Have the intention to simply be with whatever arises from this space.
If you catch yourself thinking in words you'll know that you're not completely occupying the space of your body or the space of your heart.
When you are completely heart centred then there are no words,
There are only feelings.
You may find that various feelings or experiences rise up to the surface.
Don't push them away nor grasp for any particular feeling over any other.
Simply have the intention to be with whatever arises.
If sadness arises be with the sadness and simply let it pass through in its own time.
If joy arises be with it and let it pass through in its own time.
Simply have the intention to relax further and further,
Deeper and deeper into your heart space.
This space is what the yoga tradition calls the sanctum of the heart and with practice you will know and trust that you can drop into this space at any time throughout your day.
When you are ready begin to take a few deeper breaths.
You might like to wriggle your fingers and toes or just simply rub your hands against your lap.
Gently open your eyes and return to the world.
Namaste.
