
Your Soul's Longing

Your soul came here on purpose. Sometimes we lose track of that purpose and wonder where to go. Tapping into our soul's longing can help us get back on track. The simple act of acknowledging what we long for can start to draw us opportunities to fulfill that longing.

And taking a big deep breath in through your nose,
Into your chest,
Into your belly.
Let it go.
Taking another big deep breath in through your nose,
Fill your chest,
Into your belly.
Hold it for a moment and let it go.
And one more big breath in,
Nose,
Chest,
Belly.
Yeah,
Let it go.
You're feeling yourself grounded in this bed,
Safe in this place.
And imagine in your mind's eye that you are walking on the most beautiful beach,
And you can,
You're barefoot.
You can feel the sand,
A little cool on your feet.
And as you walk,
You feel it move conforming to the contours of your feet.
As you move through the sand slowly,
You feel that sand pushing up through your toes.
Be aware of the gentle breeze on your skin.
Notice the temperature of it.
Notice the sounds,
The waves gently coming in like your breath,
Going out.
Waves coming in and going out.
And going out.
Noticing out there on the ocean,
A little sailboat,
Teetering back and forth,
Back and forth.
Notice the wind rustling some trees across the beach,
The sound of that,
Some birds calling.
Be aware of the smell of the ocean,
Feeling peaceful on this beautiful beach,
Nowhere to go.
Nothing to do.
Winding your way along,
Find a soft spot in the sand where you can sit down.
Just lowering yourself gently into the sand,
Feeling the support below you.
Maybe the shade of a tree.
Looking up to the sky,
Noticing it's a clear day.
A few clouds just blowing through.
Noticing as you see the sun up there,
That it's sending down a beam of golden white light.
It's coming down to surround your whole body in a protection bubble,
Keeping you safe,
Secure,
Warm.
Noticing now this golden white light flowing into the crown of your head.
It's gently flowing down your body from head to toe.
And it's bringing with it all that's good in the universe.
Peace,
Harmony,
Beauty,
Safety.
And as this golden white light flows down into your head and across your forehead,
Noticing that it releases all your muscles,
Touches them,
Smoothing the muscles in your forehead.
It's running now down behind your eyes,
Unwinding those tiny muscles there so your eyes drop back and relax.
Golden white light is naturally flowing across your temples,
Your head,
Your jaw,
Around the back of your throat,
Releasing all the muscles and the tissue that keep it held.
Letting your jaw soften.
This light keeps flowing down your neck and across your shoulders,
Letting them relax back into their natural position.
And noticing now as you breathe,
This light is taking away tension,
It's flowing down your arms,
Unwinding your elbows and your wrists,
And flowing out the end of your fingers,
Taking any tension out of your arms and shoulders.
This light flows down your chest,
And naturally,
Easily flows down your spine,
Unwinding the muscles of each vertebrae,
One by one by one.
It continues down through your belly and your legs,
Unwinding your knees and your ankles,
And flowing out the ends of your feet into the sand,
Taking any holding on.
I'm going to count from one to ten.
Ten.
When we get to ten,
You'll be at your deepest state.
And with each number,
Going ten times deeper.
One,
Floating on the beach.
Two,
Going ten times deeper now.
Three,
Letting go fully.
Four,
Deeper still.
Halfway to your deepest state.
Six,
Relaxing.
Seven,
Deeper down now.
Eight,
Deepening still.
Nine,
Almost there.
Ten,
Landing at your deepest state,
Peaceful,
Relaxed.
And see yourself float for a moment on this beach,
Aware of the gentle breeze and the sounds of the ocean coming in and out,
Breathing in and out,
Just as those waves move in and out,
And centering your attention into your heart space,
Breathing in there,
Just bringing all your attention to your heart space,
Sensing into gratitude,
Passion,
Appreciation,
Care,
Growing with each inhale into your heart,
And flowing out of you into the world that you need to experience.
And now,
I'm imagining in your mind's eye a doorway.
See what this doorway is made of.
And notice the door and its handle.
Now gently reach out your hand,
Push or turn that handle so the door swings open.
Now stepping over this threshold,
Into your heart,
Move into the passageway as you let the door swing close behind you.
Moving now along the passageway,
Notice the light,
Notice the color,
Notice what you feel under your feet as you walk through this passageway into your heart space,
Passageway opening up into the landscape of your heart.
Notice what you see,
What is unfolding in front of you as you step into this space.
Notice what you feel in your body,
Sensations,
Emotions,
What you hear,
What you see.
Look around,
Look in front of you,
Look to the sides,
Look above,
Below,
Behind you.
Find yourself to this inner space of your heart.
As you move through the landscape of your heart,
Just notice how you feel in here.
No need to change anything,
Just notice it.
And up in front of you,
You notice a welcoming figure moving towards you.
This is your inner helper,
They have come to greet you.
This part of yourself is always present,
Always available for assistance whenever you call,
And in turn your heart space has called them.
Notice them as they move towards you,
Notice what you hear,
Thanking them for showing up as always.
Turn around,
What you hear is the voice you hear.
Tell them you are here,
Looking for your soul's longing,
And ask them to give you some symbol,
Some sign,
Help you understand what it is your soul is longing for.
That message to come to you,
When it comes again,
The sensation,
You may hear words,
You may see words,
You may see a symbol.
Whatever it is,
Just allow it,
You don't need to make sense of it right now,
Just allow yourself to notice it,
To know what it is.
You have received that from your inner helper,
Just store it in a pocket somewhere,
So you can bring it back with you and thank them.
Now tell them you'd like to receive another message,
And here you can ask them any question that you want,
You can simply ask what is it that I most need to know right now,
Or if you have another question more specific,
Ask it now.
Again allow the answer to come as it does,
May be different this time,
Heard a sound,
A dream,
A memory,
These are all ways that our inner helper communicates with us.
Please receive that message,
That answer to your question,
Tuck it away in a different pocket.
Prayer of gratitude for your inner helper,
Say thank you,
Whatever way seems right to you,
Let them know you'll be leaving now,
And you can return anytime,
And watch as they walk away through the landscape of your heart,
Feeling that sense of gratitude for their presence,
Their willingness to always be here to help,
And turning around,
Take one last look at this inner landscape of your heart,
Noticing,
Make your way back to that passageway you came through,
Notice the change in the light,
Or as you enter the passageway heading towards the door,
As you're ready,
Reach out,
Pull the door towards you,
Step over the threshold,
And let it swing close behind you,
Again taking a big deep breath into your heart space,
Reviewing those two answers that you stored in your pockets,
Make sure you still have them,
Noticing yourself now still laying on this beach,
As waves still coming in and out,
Being grateful for this rest,
For this time tending to your soul,
As you feel the support beneath you,
Being ready to return,
Being aware of the cushions holding you,
The floor,
The building,
The chain in your heart,
Your inner helper,
And the messages you received,
Again breathe into your heart space,
Filling yourself with gratitude,
Compassion,
Appreciation,
And breathing out,
Let that flow out into the world,
As I count from five,
I return gradually to your regular waking consciousness,
Five,
Remembering everything that held,
Feeling peaceful,
With the messages you received,
Sensing back into this body,
Feeling the cushions,
The floor,
Two,
Beginning to move,
Returning,
Fully awake,
Refreshed,
Rejuvenated,
Ready for your day.
