If your mind feels busy or you’re carrying more stress than you'd like, this meditation is here to help you find a place of greater ease and calm. In this gentle practice, I’ll show you how to slowly release tension, and reconnect with the open, steady space of the heart. As the body relaxes and the mind quietens, you may begin to notice a natural sense of ease, warmth, and quiet optimism — feelings that can emerge when you allow them the space to do so. When repeated regularly this meditation will help to ease stress, soothe your mind and help you to find a place of real grounding and peace.

Hello I'm Kate and I'm so happy that you've joined me here.

Over the next few minutes I'll be helping you to move from the busyness of your mind into the open space of your heart.

It's such a simple but yet powerful practice that I use often especially when I'm looking to create a little more joy and positivity in my life.

So when you're ready just gently closing the eyes down or if you prefer just lowering your gaze and let's start by just grounding into the body noticing the weight of your body resting on a chair or bed or maybe the floor and allowing the weight of your body to really sink into the surface beneath you allowing a real letting go as your mind focuses on the weight of the body and starting to be really curious about how it feels to connect with the surface beneath you and now moving your attention to the feet resting here and again noticing that point of touch that connection with the earth beneath you and bringing all your awareness to the feet resting here and if your mind is busy distracted just knowing that that's totally normal and our practice is just to notice the wandering mind and to bring all your awareness back to the body and the feet connecting with the earth below noticing your body feeling more grounded more present more alive and just taking a moment now to see what's here in the mind how is the mind feeling as you practice here today just bringing a gentle awareness to the temperature of the mind and rather than trying to change what's here just seeing if you can soften around it any feelings of difficulty any noise or busyness in the mind just holding it in a gentle awareness and as you bring awareness to your thoughts to your mind noticing how your body feels perhaps tense constricted holding on numb resistant just allowing the mind to feel what it feels in this moment and allowing the body to respond in its own natural way and if there's constriction just really allowing any tension any pressure to be felt as we feel into the difficulties in our mind the tension and pressure in our bodies we're allowing it to release almost like steam trapped in a kettle so just allowing that release of tension and imagining it coming out of every pore in your body that steam of anxiety of tension pouring out every cell in your body allowing a real loosening and ease in the body as you allow the tension to be felt and to be released and really allowing and easing and letting go with every outbreath as you allow any stress dis-ease and tension to be felt and then to be released to flow out of your body and with every outbreath allowing a real letting go sinking deeper into the earth below as you allow the tension and the stress to wash away to pour out of you and allowing a real lightness in the body to return perhaps checking in with the breath noticing how the breath is lengthening and moving in a slower rhythm as you allow all the tension in your body to release,

To be washed away so really letting go with every outbreath enjoying the soft powerful rhythm of the breath noticing how it soothes,

Eases tension releases pressure and now in this lighter state free of a little tension,

A little pressure moving your awareness now to the heart space space in the center of your chest and seeing if you can focus all your awareness deep inside the heart imagining a bright white light at the core of your heart space and imagining that light getting brighter and brighter and as you focus on that bright light in the center of your heart space allowing your body to open up allowing a little more ease to enter your cells allowing more of a letting go,

A softening as you focus all your awareness on the heart space really soaking in that bright white light at the center of your heart that place of ease,

Hope,

And joy and starting to allow that bright light in your heart space to expand and to fill the whole heart pulsing with fresh energy bringing you a sense of ease and hope and grounding and now seeing if you can allow that light to spread from the heart throughout your whole body filling the legs,

The torso,

The head,

The arms allowing yourself to be filled up with bright white energy filling you with a sense of real presence and strength and hope and a deep sense of gratitude for this moment and soaking in all the benefits of this heart practice noticing any small shifts in your body and your mind and as we move towards the end of the practice just taking one more moment to connect in with that bright light that started at the center of your heart space and knowing that you can always return to this space in the body whenever you feel the need for a little more grounding,

For a shift of energy for a sense of being truly present,

Alive,

Connected and as we finish this practice together,

In your own time,

Bringing some awareness back into the body by gently,

Slowly wiggling the toes and then slowly wiggling the fingers and only when you're ready,

Opening the eyes and joining us back here i hope you found this practice helpful it's one that i'd recommend returning to whenever you feel that you need to shift your energy find a little more positivity and hope and i also have many other practices that can help ease anxiety help you to find a place of calm wishing you well and i hope to see you soon,

Take care
