This meditation is based on the Emotional freedom technique (EFT) and intended for anxiety relief. According to the Chinese belief system, energy keeps flowing in and out of the body. The problem starts happening when this energy gets struck. When we tap on these energy meridians, it stimulates those energy centers, hence releasing that emotional burden.
