Welcome,
I'm Kali.
This meditation utilizes the chakra energy system.
We work with the muladhara chakra or the root chakra,
As well as some light pranayama breath work.
Sit up straight with your back tall.
This meditation is best done sitting up on the ground with your legs crossed,
But if that is not possible you can also be seated on a chair.
Feel your sitz bones under your hips.
Connect to the surface beneath you.
Relax your shoulders down your back.
Release any tension in your forehead,
Your jaw,
Your whole face.
Bring your awareness now to your breath.
Noticing the full movement of your breath in and out of your body.
Notice as it comes inside your nostrils and passes all the way down through to your hips and then on your exhale back up and out.
Allow your breath to anchor you completely to this moment.
Letting go of all thoughts,
Letting go of the past,
Letting go of the future.
There is only now,
There is only your breath.
If thoughts come into your mind allow them to flow out with your breath coming back to your breath as the anchor.
Have no judgment on yourself,
Only compassion for that is the mind's job and you are here doing the work.
This practice of compassion is so important and valuable.
You shift your awareness now down to your pelvic bowl.
Your left and right hip,
The sacrum,
The lower aspect of the spine,
The tip of the spine,
The tailbone and everything in between,
Your whole pelvic bowl.
Holding your awareness,
Your whole pelvic bowl.
Can you feel your sits bones underneath your hips,
The connection points to the surface beneath you?
Feel those connection points.
Keeping your awareness on these connection points,
Breathe in through your perineum.
As you inhale,
Breathe in from the earth beneath you into your pelvic bowl.
On your inhales,
Imagine you're breathing in through your perineum,
Filling your pelvic bowl with air and breathing back out through the same point.
You may find it helpful to see the color red in your root chakra as you're breathing in and out of this place.
As you're breathing in prana energy into this space,
Allowing your breath to clear out anything that is no longer needed.
Any old pain,
Anything preventing you from being completely grounded in your body,
In your root,
Any tribal or family trauma that is ready to be released,
Goes out on your exhale.
And you continue this breath,
This clearing breath,
Using your prana to breathe into this space,
Allowing the breath to carry out anything that can be released.
If you don't feel a connection to this place,
Perhaps there is some numbness,
Maybe some pain or heaviness.
That's okay.
Whatever is happening is right for you.
Trust it and continue using your breath to clear and balance this space in your body.
You you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you you if it feels right for you,
You may wish to picture a spinning ball of red,
Just above your perineum,
Between your perineum and your tailbone.
And you may wish to spin this spinning ball of red energy.
Perhaps you will see things fly off it that are no longer needed,
Shaking off anything that's ready to be removed.
It may be helpful for you to in your mind consciously spin this ball.
Your root chakra is believed to be your grounding place,
Your connection to the earth.
Your balance creates a feeling of deep connection and safety.
You are grounded safely in your body.
Death is safe for you.
Like all relationships,
The one with your body is your reciprocal.
If feeling into this space in your body is challenging for you,
I suggest doing this meditation regularly to build connection and groundedness in your root and in doing so in your body.
Namaste.
You
