As you lay down and settle into simple,

Elegant breath awareness,

It's kind,

It lacks efforting,

So inherently threaded into the interests of the breath is a sense of ease.

Moving into the metta practice,

This flavor of friendliness.

We'll start with the self,

So bring yourself to mind.

You.

Radiant,

Luminous,

Imperfect,

Chaotic,

Incredible you.

May I be well and happy.

Breathe those words well and happy.

And feel that this is a wish in your heart.

And envisioning now your own human flourishing.

What does it look like and feel like for you to be thriving and prospering?

Maybe so.

Well extends the flavor of my tree now the practice of matter grows the heart wider now to encompass a friend or a loved one.

Bring them vividly to your mind,

To your heart,

Mind.

Open your heart to this person.

Wish them well.

Wish for their happiness.

Bring to mind their specific aspirations.

May your yearnings be fulfilled.

Letting your heart join with theirs May you be well,

May you be happy,

Joining hearts,

Extending matter.

Why it is extending matter to a neutral person.

Like if that person had just died,

Or just won the lottery,

Your mind would still basically remain unmoved so a gas station attendant,

You don't know a clerk at the supermarket,

Someone you've passed on the street.

Focus on them.

As for myself.

So for you.

You also wish to be free of suffering.

You also wish to find happiness.

May you experience that.

Maybe well.

You be happy.

Lastly,

Wider and warmer still.

Bring to mind someone whom you harbor resentment.

Some animosity.

Inviting them into the heart mind.

Knowing that this animosity may not be cleared out in the first week.

You can return to this practice again and again.

May you be well.

May you be happy.

Thank you for the lessons.

Releasing from the higher.

Exhale your way back down to the valley.

We will close with a centering intention the Boda aspiration.

The reminder that we practice to cultivate greater channels of compassion.

More loving more forgiving more benevolent in our intentionality.

That's why we practice.

As when a drop of water falls into the sea and will not disappear until the sea itself is dry.

So merit pledged for the benefit of all beings.

In order that they might quickly attain enlightenment.

Is not consumed until Buddha hood is gained.

Bearing this in mind.

I dedicate any merit that I have accumulated.

For the benefit of all beings.

From now until I reach the very heart of liberation.

May I be of significant benefit to all beings.

My inseparable family.
