Lying down here,

We succumb to gravity.

We give ourselves,

We give the bones to the ground.

And in doing so,

We settle into our own ground of being.

We go heavy through the skeleton,

Sink those good bones down into the earth.

There are shamanic practices that attend to rebalancing the heart through what's called cradling work.

It's this indigenous form of lying meditation in the corpse pose.

We're lying on our backs and then we place both hands on our heart.

So many cultures,

So many wisdom traditions in which hands are the symbol for healing.

So this cradle work in Shavasana is really the best way to embrace and transform issues surrounding fear,

Anger,

Control.

And we use it to reopen ourselves to the wide open heart.

And with your hands on your heart,

We'll move through three steps of this ancient practice of cradle work.

Step one,

Silently,

We acknowledge the character qualities that we appreciate about ourselves.

Acknowledging our strengths.

Step two,

Acknowledge the contributions to the world that you've made and continue to make.

Your contributions,

Basking in that holy glow,

Feeling good about the contributions you've made to the world.

Lastly,

We acknowledge the love given and the love we've received.

We acknowledge the love we've given and the love we've received.

And then releasing that inner method,

Use the next three rounds of breath to ride that royal road down from the heart,

Exhaling your way back home to the hara,

That ancient descent back to the belly.
