This is Julie Skahn and this meditation was created to calm your nervous system So you can get back into enjoying the present moment Neuroscience shows that just two minutes of this deep breathing with longer exhales Engages your vagus nerve which turns off the fight or flight or freeze response caused by stress So let's go in if you are sitting up sit tall roll your shoulders back and slightly lift your chin if you're lying down get as comfortable as possible Please gently close your eyes and place one hand on your heart the other on your abdomen Bring your awareness to your breathing rhythm and begin By taking a deep inhale through your nose and a long slow gradual Sweet exhale through your mouth again in through your nose and a long slow deep Exhale out as you breathe fill your belly rise and fall with each breath Continue this rhythm this dance this cadence of your breath with deep inhales and even longer exhales Begin to see yourself surrounded in a soft light.
This light is warm Caring nurturing and nourishing on your next inhale draw this light up into your mindset Watch this light as it moves around inside of your head filling any shadows with light Touching every part of your mind Fill each of your breaths with this light and with each exhale release let it go and allow yourself to fall deeper into relaxation on your next inhale begin to guide your breath and this light from the very Top of your head your crown and invited within to touch every part of your body Every cell starting from your crown guide this light down your forehead touching your eyes temples your cheeks your ears Your nose your mouth and jaw see this light moving down your neck shoulders filling your chest and lungs Allow this light to enter your heart Glided down your torso and back filling your abdomen Pelvis and hips guide this light down your legs Thighs your knees and calves and finally all the way into the very tips of your toes Fill your body enveloped in this light and once again bring your attention to the sound and rhythm Of your breath in through your nose long slow sweet exhale out stay here for a few moments just listening and witnessing the calm you are cultivating within together Let's take another deep inhale in and exhale let it out Start to come back into this moment by gently repeating the words Thank you to yourself when you are ready open your eyes and embody the reset You have just created for yourself.
