Science shows that with just 90 mindful seconds, you can move through emotion and build emotional resiliency. This meditation is the practice that will allow you to experience emotional freedom, which is so beneficial for your emotional and physical health. In 90 seconds you will acknowledge the physical sensations you are holding within your body, you will then label this emotion, and finally that somatic connection allows the emotion to move through you. Practice this meditation daily, use it when you are overwhelmed stressed, sad, or lonely. And then, at the end of the meditation, you will claim the new emotion that you want to hold, to embody. Thank you for meditating with me, Julie

Hello,

This is Julie Skahn,

And welcome to this meditation to ride the wave of an emotional release.

Emotions move.

They move through us.

And when we allow them to get unstuck,

To process through,

You may find that you are more in control of the emotions that you experience than you may even know.

So how do we do this?

Well,

Good news.

Recent science shows that emotions actually only exist within our bodies for 90 seconds.

And from there,

They only continue to be reignited if we choose to do so with our thoughts and our mindset.

This process of 90 seconds is just three steps.

First,

You will tune into the physical sensations and acknowledge what you are feeling in your body.

For example,

I feel tightness in my chest,

My stomach is in knots,

I have a heaviness in my heart,

And so on.

The second step is to label this emotion,

To give it a name,

Such as anger,

Fear,

Overwhelm,

Sadness.

And the final step is to allow this wave of emotion to move through you.

I will guide you through,

And I'm excited to share this practice with you,

So I invite you to join me now.

Please get settled in,

In a seated or lying down position,

Whatever is the most comfortable for you.

And if you're feeling like movement is helpful for you right now,

Walking or standing with this meditation is also beneficial.

Begin to connect to the sound of your inhales and exhales,

Gradually slowing down your breathing rhythm.

Imagine that your breaths are like waves,

Building with your inhales,

And the exhales being a retreat,

A release,

A reset.

Begin to tune into your body,

And find that place that needs your attention.

What are the physical sensations that you are feeling there?

List them out in your mind,

Or say them out loud,

What are the physical sensations that you are feeling,

Experiencing,

In this part of your body?

What is the name of this emotion?

Can you label it?

Once again,

Say this in your mind,

Or out loud,

What is the name of this emotion?

Now that you have acknowledged what you're feeling,

And labeled it,

Allow this emotion,

This chemical response to move through you.

Let your exhales be that release,

Your inhales a fresh start.

Or feel free to move,

To shake it out,

Whatever feels best for you.

Now is the time to let this emotion move through you.

Take a nice deep breath.

You have just moved through 90 seconds of an emotional release cycle.

You now have the power to release it and let it go.

The only way that we stay within an emotional loop cycle is if we re-trigger it with our thoughts.

So now the power is within you,

How would you like to feel now?

Can you name the new emotion that you are claiming that you are embodying in this moment?

This process that you just did builds emotional resiliency.

It allows you to move through your day in control of your emotional responses to the environment and to your own thoughts.

Use this 90 seconds often,

And if you would like,

Come back to this meditation tomorrow to work through another emotion,

Perhaps one you have been holding onto that is ready to be released.

And please,

I would love to hear,

Comment the emotion that you began this meditation with and the one you are choosing to embody now.

Sending you so much love,

Thank you for meditating with me today.

You have a believer! I shall work with your 90 second daily. I have many emotions to have move through me. Some very intense! Should I settle in with one for days? Or is it better to do various ones when they come to my mind? Much gratitude for the path to peace!
