Welcome.
I'm Julie Conrad.
Whether you're recovering from a recent illness or perhaps a surgery,
This affirmation is designed to remind you of your body's natural healing ability.
Oftentimes we forget how incredible our human bodies are.
In our minds,
Try to rush healing because we want to get back the way we were.
So let's begin by finding a comfortable position where you can relax.
Close your eyes and just soften the muscles around the eyes,
Softening your shoulders.
And just begin to notice your body settling in and letting go.
Sometimes our abdomen can feel tight.
See if you can relax tension in this area.
Now,
What is the breath doing?
You may notice,
Oh,
I'm actually holding my breath.
If this is the case,
Let go and just sigh.
Maybe you notice that that breath is very gentle.
Very high in the chest.
When we breathe shallowly up in this upper area of the chest,
We can actually induce a feeling of anxiety.
So just by retraining our breath to be steady,
We can calm the nervous system.
And it's common to become stressed and anxious after an illness or surgery as we're concerned about our body and our well-being.
So notice again what that breath is doing.
Are you holding it?
Is it moving easily?
Just reconnect and this can take some time.
If you're having trouble connecting with what this should feel like,
Just allow yourself to sigh.
Let go of muscular tension anywhere in the body.
And then just focus on the tip of the nose.
Feel the breath moving in and out very gently.
You can keep your awareness here the whole time.
Not trying to manipulate the breath in any significant way other than just to notice.
Observe the in and out of the breath at the nostrils.
Letting go any tension.
No matter what stage of healing you may be in,
It's important to take a moment to remind yourself that you don't have to do all the work here.
Your body knows exactly what to do.
We need to allow the body the space and the time it needs to do its work.
So releasing any tension in the body helps to remove that obstacle.
For the natural healing ability of your body.
So simply repeat this affirmation out loud or to yourself to help you come into that space to support what your body's already doing.
My body is healing.
My body is healing.
I am healing every day in my own time.
I cannot rush my recovery.
My body is doing an incredible job.
I feel where I am weak.
I feel where I am weak.
This is temporary.
I look forward to feeling like myself again.
But I am patient.
My body knows exactly what to do.
My mind can rest because my body has everything under control.
I am proud of this body.
I trust this body.
This body is powerful,
Intelligent,
And strong.
I can feel every cell in my body working together.
Every breath guiding the process of repair.
I feel a protective energy surrounding me.
I feel at ease in my body.
I feel stronger today.
And I will feel even stronger tomorrow.
I'm exactly where I should be in my healing process.
I take excellent care of myself.
And I accept help when I need it.
I know it's okay to ask for help.
Everything need not be a struggle.
I deserve to let things be easy for a while.
I am stronger than I ever knew I could be.
I am not afraid anymore.
My body is doing its job.
It knows exactly what it's supposed to do.
I can relax.
I can rest.
I can recover fully.
I am resilient in my mind and in my body.
My body is doing exactly what it's supposed to do.
Can you allow yourself to trust your body?
To let go of control in your mind about how fast you recover.
And just let your body do its job.
Follow your protocols for recovery from your doctor.
And let your body do the rest.
Pain and inflammation are directly correlated with our mind.
So the more you can relax,
The less you will need help with pain management.
Try to keep the resistance in your mind,
The tension in your body,
Try to keep yourself calm.
And when you start to feel yourself become stressed or anxious,
Come back to your breathing,
Come back to this affirmation.
Try other relaxation techniques and I promise you,
You will feel better.
In the meantime,
Take good care of yourself and thank you for listening.
