Hello and welcome to this guided meditation for letting go and acceptance during a divorce,
Separation,
Or breakup.
My name is Julie Ilah Grace,
And I am honored to be your meditation guide today.
Before we begin this meditation,
I'd like to invite you to practice today with a deep sense of compassion and non-judgmental awareness.
There is no need to judge your thoughts or your feelings.
Simply be with whatever may come up for you,
And let us welcome healing into this space for ourselves and for all beings,
Remembering that the highest good is the highest good for all.
Now as we settle into the practice,
Try to find a quiet,
Comfortable place to either sit or lie down.
Once you've found your comfortable position,
Close your eyes,
And take a few deep inhales through the nose,
With exhales either sighing or blowing the air out of the mouth.
Imagine that with each inhale,
You are bringing more and more calm into your body and into your mind,
And with each exhale,
You are releasing accumulated stress and tension.
As you breathe,
Invite your mind to gently let your intuition take over.
There is no need for your mind to judge anything that comes up in this practice.
And if your mind tries to step in,
Just thank it,
And remind it that you are safe and supported here and now,
And then return to your breath,
Your intuition,
And your free-flowing awareness.
Feel as if your mind is receiving this message right now,
And gladly accepting the opportunity to rest.
We will now begin to build an intuitive awareness of the energy held within the body.
Again,
Avoid judging anything that you find.
Simply notice.
In a moment,
When we scan the body,
Notice if the energy feels as if it moves freely,
Or if there are blockages.
Become aware of any colors or sensations,
Even textures,
As you scan.
So take the awareness down to your toes now.
What sensations,
Colors,
Or vibrations do you notice there?
And of course,
It's absolutely fine if you notice nothing at all,
Too.
Become aware of the soles of the feet,
The ball,
Side,
And heel of each.
What is happening throughout the feet and into the ankles?
Travel upwards into your lower leg.
Again,
Notice colors,
Sensations,
Textures,
Places of openness or impasses.
Keep the awareness flowing as you check in with your knees,
Your upper legs,
Your hips,
Pelvis,
Lower back,
Abdomen,
Spine,
Chest,
Heart,
Through each arm,
Into your hands and fingers.
Become aware of the shoulders,
Neck,
Throat,
Face,
And crown.
Do your body now wholly,
And become aware of the colors,
Sensations,
And energetic obstructions again.
Where are you open,
And where are you blocked?
Where are you energetically heavy,
And where are you energetically light?
Allow yourself to simply exist in this awareness.
Even as we experience the loss of a relationship,
The body can offer insights into our feelings and the ways that we may or may not be letting go and allowing for change to enter into our lives.
Notice if you are resisting the end of this relationship.
How does it feel in your body?
In your mind?
Remember that pain,
Whether physical or emotional,
Is not the root of suffering,
But that it is the resistance to pain that is the root of suffering.
Pause for a moment and consider if you are resisting your pain.
And if you are,
Imagine your pain in front of you like a sphere of energy now.
Notice its colors,
Shapes,
And vibration,
And remember that there is a wellspring of strength and light within you.
This strength and light has already allowed you to survive every hurt so far in this lifetime.
So see that pain now through the eyes of compassion.
Tell your pain that you see it,
That you acknowledge it,
And even thank it for reminding you of such darkness,
Knowing that it will allow you to appreciate the light all the more when you come to it.
As a relationship finishes its course,
Sometimes there is residual or even deeply rooted anger.
Notice if anger exists in your physical or energetic bodies right now.
What does it do to you?
How does it affect you?
Do you resist or accept your anger?
Again,
Remember that allowing is the first step in transmuting.
If you haven't accepted that you're angry,
Imagine accepting your anger much like you accepted your pain.
See it now,
Welcome it,
Thank it for what it has to teach you.
Now intuitively ask yourself if it would serve you to release some or even all of your anger.
There is no right answer here.
If releasing anger would be beneficial to you right now,
Imagine that with each inhale,
You are readying that anger to release,
Almost like a fire-breathing dragon.
Let it build up and release with large and sweeping exhales.
If your body wants to engage in some way,
For example,
By tightening the fists and throwing out the energy,
Or making noise,
Or anything else,
Also allow it to do so.
Take a few moments to release here,
Or simply be with anything else that you need to be with right now.
Begin to breathe calmly again.
Feel yourself as lighter.
And remember,
You are empowering yourself in this practice right now,
And you are revitalizing your beautiful,
Energetic light.
Resistance can also creep up because of fear at the end of a relationship.
That fear can show up because of impending changes in our circumstances.
So if you find yourself afraid of an unknown future,
Pause and remember that when you were a baby,
There was only the present moment.
When you were a child,
You had no idea how your life would unfold.
And yet somehow,
You got here.
I'd like you to visualize the timeline of your life as having always been full of infinite possibilities.
Visualize light pouring into that timeline now.
Trust that you are being,
And will continue to be guided down a path towards your highest good.
You have the ability to shape your experiences as you move forward,
Simply by how you energetically respond to them.
So imagine opening yourself up right now,
To the most incredible possibilities.
Possibilities of which you cannot even fathom.
Feel your heart opening up to receive an abundant and radiant future.
Breathe into that openness right now.
Fear may also show up because of concerns about what others think or feel.
Remember that you can only control your responses in this life.
You cannot control,
Nor are you responsible for,
How others think,
Feel,
Or behave.
Allow yourself to be empowered by your own abilities to not only survive,
But to thrive.
In this moment,
You are building your energy,
Your resilience,
And your abilities to shine light through darkness.
Feel that strength rooting itself in your body right now.
Feel yourself as a beacon of light,
Able to be compassionate and open-minded and forgiving of those who have not cultivated these abilities yet.
Breathe into your strength and compassion for a few moments.
Fear can also show up as self-doubt about our worth,
Whether because of age,
Appearance,
Or any myriad of other things about which we may lack confidence.
But remember that your light is timeless,
And not defined by this physical body in any way.
You are an energy.
Bring into your awareness the energy at which you would like to vibrate.
What do you want to emit?
How do you want to live this one short and precious life?
Feel yourself infused with that energy.
Stay with this visualization for a few moments.
Sometimes resistance can also appear in the form of hope.
We may hope to return to a past that is already past.
We may hope that someone might change their mind.
We may hope for things to be different than they are.
If you find yourself stagnating in hope,
I would like you to imagine releasing it right now,
Surrendering fully to the present moment.
In this moment,
You live in a complex,
Breathing body formed by millennia of ancestors,
And DNA with elements from stardust.
You are an incredible miracle.
Allow gratitude to enter into your body simply because you exist here and now on earth.
Simply because you have been able to experience life in this body,
In this moment,
In all its highs and lows.
Breathe,
Give thanks,
And exist simply in this moment.
Give yourself permission to practice feeling and letting go throughout these coming days of this journey.
Allow yourself to be curious about your feelings rather than to judge them.
Remember that letting go is not something that we do only once,
But sometimes it is something we must practice over and over again.
Give yourself the space to practice acceptance.
Know it as a practice,
Something that you get better at over time.
Trust that you will continue to master this skill the more that you practice it.
Start to deepen your breath again now,
And bring soft movement back into your fingers and back into your toes.
Again,
Remember that you are an energy.
Breathe into that energy,
And open your eyes when you're ready.
This day is yours.
This moment is yours.
Be free to explore it,
And be open to all of the amazing and inconceivable possibilities.
