This meditation serves as a powerful tool for grounding back into the body, suitable for any time of the day or as a meditation to ground into your body before your yoga practice. Through intentional gentle breathwork and mindful observation, it facilitates a deep connection with the present moment and cultivates a sense of inner peace and presence. Whether as a standalone practice or as an opening to your yoga practice, it offers a pathway to re-centering and grounding.

Find a quiet space where you can be in stillness and surrender.

Begin by settling into a comfortable seated position,

Allowing your spine to naturally lengthen and your shoulders to soften.

Rest your hands on your knees or thighs,

Palms facing up to welcome energy or facing down for grounding.

Slowly start to close down your eyes and tune into your surroundings.

Begin to notice any sounds,

Any smells and the quality of the air against your skin.

Feel the connection of your sit bones grounding into the earth as the crown of your head reaches towards the sky.

Slowly begin to lengthen the breath,

As you inhale feel the belly rise,

The ribs rise and the chest rise.

As you exhale feel the chest fall,

The ribs fall,

Belly Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest.

Exhale chest,

Ribs.

Inhale belly,

Ribs,

Chest.

Exhale chest,

Ribs,

Belly.

Continue breathing like this in your own time and at your own pace.

With each inhale invite a sense of peace and relaxation to permeate your body.

As you exhale consciously release any tension or stress you may be holding onto.

Slowly start to release any control of the breath and simply allow yourself to be breathed.

Taking a moment to simply be in the body,

Grounding yourself in the present moment.

When you feel ready slowly start to reopen the eyes,

Allowing the light to re-enter your being.
