Welcome to today's morning meditation practice.
Wherever you find yourself,
Whether you're still in bed,
Sitting on a cushion or on the floor,
Begin by checking in with your body.
Take this time to take small stretches in your neck,
Your wrists,
Maybe stretch your arms up and wide.
Roll your ankles and wiggle your toes.
Then,
Begin to find stillness and take in a big breath in through your nose and exhale through your mouth.
Let's do that once more.
In through your nose and out through your mouth.
Return to your natural rhythm of breathing,
And if they are not already,
Close your eyes.
As we ease into our practice,
Begin to pay attention to thoughts that come into your mind.
Try not to judge them or attach to one particular thought,
But rather just observe what comes to mind.
When we open our awareness to the very first thoughts that enter our head,
We can get a better picture of the mental energy that we start our day with.
Continue to observe thoughts as they come in,
Not trying to push them out or change them.
As you watch the thoughts moving in and out,
Begin to pay attention to any physical sensations that might accompany them.
Again,
Not trying to change anything,
But just becoming aware of sensations as they arise.
Now take in one deep breath and let it go.
Let go of the thoughts and physical sensations and just focus on your breath in and out.
As you continue breathing,
Think about an intention you'd like to set for your day.
It could be something you wish to accomplish before you go to sleep tonight,
Or an overall energy that you want to embody.
Once you have it clear in your mind,
Take in another deep breath and let it out,
Sealing your intention.
As you move throughout your day,
I encourage you to find moments to pause and check in with your breath.
Come back to your intention,
Take a deep breath and re-center yourself.
The more small moments we take to check in with our breath and body,
The more integrated our meditation practice becomes in our day-to-day lives.
Thank you so much for taking the time to start your morning with me.
I wish you a refreshed and easeful start as you move into the day ahead.
