Third,

Chakra meditation.

Begin by finding a comfortable seat,

Or you can stand if you like.

Start by noticing the parts of your body that are touching the floor or the earth.

Imagine those body parts growing roots down into the earth.

Imagine the earth providing nourishment for this lower part of your body.

And then with your mind's eye,

Bring awareness to your pelvis.

You can shift your pelvis a little bit if you like.

Give it a little bit of movement as a way to find dynamic alignment.

And then come to feel upright in your spine.

Bring your awareness now to your abdomen,

To your navel center,

And really to the whole three-dimensional nature of your abdominal cavity.

Here is where your third chakra resides.

The element here is fire.

See if you can imagine fire burning in your abdomen,

Generating heat that warms your whole body.

You can use this fire to alchemize your relationship to earth and water.

The third chakra is about personal power,

Having a sense of embodied power,

A sense of confidence,

A sense of right relationship with oneself,

Not using that power to dominate others,

Not letting others' power dominate us,

But instead being in power with community,

Being in power together.

This chakra is also about will,

Taking proper action in the world.

See if you can breathe into the fire in your abdomen.

Your breath can stoke the heat.

It can build the alchemy that resides here in the third chakra.

Your breath can be almost like bellows at a fire.

The third chakra is also about autonomy,

Sovereignty,

Our ability to make good choices in the world.

See if you can feel this chakra stack over your second chakra and your first chakra so that the energy centers can be in right relationship with each other.

You can feel stacked and centered.

And notice your ribs on top of your third chakra.

Notice if they're jutting forward or if they're collapsed back.

Jutting forward can be a sign of trying to exert power over others.

Ribs collapsed backwards can be a sign of others having power over us.

What would it be like to stack them right on top of your first,

Second,

And third chakra to own your own power?

You can also imagine the fire in your abdomen like the sun,

Radiating outward,

Bringing warmth to the world around you.

The sun's rays could fill your body with warmth,

With energy,

With vitality.

Working with the lower three chakras together can really help bring stability into one's life and into one's energy body.

Try to imagine the energy from your third chakra connecting down into your roots.

You are powerful.

You have agency.

You can make wise choices and actions in the world.

Come into your breathing once more and feel how your breath can light you up.

And then as you're ready,

Place your hands over your heart,

Drop your chin toward your heart to signal to your body that your meditation practice for today is complete,

And offer a sense of gratitude to your body for the work it's done for you today.
