And now let's just find our comfortable position.
The Kula Sanyata meditation actually starts with the eyes open,
And we just sit looking straight forward and just allow your mind to take in any of the sights around you that are associated with man-made objects,
A room,
A place.
Right now I'm looking into the camera of a Mac laptop,
So I'm seeing a man-made object.
So just allowing ourselves to situate ourselves in an environment that has no doubt objects made by people,
Chairs,
Perhaps a couch,
Table,
Window,
Technology,
And so forth,
Clothes.
And then allow yourself to close your eyes,
And as you close your eyes bring still the sense of the man-made into your awareness,
And just start by visualizing in your mind using your imagination the city or the environment around you if you're in a suburb or rural environment.
So visualize just all the man-made elements,
The houses,
The roads,
Cars,
Visualizing any other objects,
Street posts,
Signs,
Lights,
Objects that might be outdoors,
Buildings,
Shops.
The Buddha called this recollection of the city or the village,
And perhaps he started this meditation because it's the most familiar in many ways to the dominant hemisphere,
Which tends to focus on man-made objects.
So the Buddha starts with this orientation to what we are most often aware of,
The man-made objects and world around us.
So just allow that to be there,
And while you're holding in your mind an image of the world,
Allow your shoulders to drop in your belly to soften,
So that we're going to try to keep ourselves in a state of ease and comfort.

Org long exhalations,
And again just allow the mind to be a realm of visualizations of the world of things,
Objects,
Buildings,
All that is artificial,
All that is man-made.
So let's now change the image.
In our mind,
In the second part of this meditation we move from all that is artificial to all that is natural.
So see if you can visualize images of trees,
Nature,
Grass,
All that is natural either nearby you or natural that you've experienced recently,
Bodies of water,
Mountains,
Sky,
The earth,
Of the ground,
The rocks,
Twigs,
Leaves.
And while you hold these images in your mind,
See if there's a subtle shift in the quality of attention,
The feeling of your body,
Very often shifting the images from what is artificial and man-made to the natural with some people.
Just that subtle shift,
Moving,
Integrating information and images that we generally gate out of our awareness,
We block,
Allowing them back in can be relaxing,
Soothing to visualize natural settings without any attention to anything man-made,
Just nature in it of itself.
Thank you.
So now moving on to the third theme of the meditation,
Just letting go of the natural objects around you and just bring attention to the earth itself.
Interestingly for the third part of this meditation the Buddha just said bring awareness to the earth,
The solidity,
The feeling of being on ground,
Being on a spaceship we could say,
Moving through the cosmos around the sun.
Buddha said just bear in mind the earth in and of itself without reference to anything artificial or even the signs of nature that grow from it,
Just the earth as a ground,
A home on which we live out our lives,
Feeling this connection between ourselves and the earth.
So now moving on to the fourth theme of the meditation,
Just letting go of the natural objects around you and just bringing attention to the earth,
The solidity,
The feeling of being on ground,
The solidity,
The feeling of being on a spaceship.
So now moving on to the fifth theme of the meditation,
Just letting go of the natural objects.
So letting go now of the reflection or the recollection of the earth and at this point the practice becomes more transcendent,
More open in our imagination,
The Buddha says bring to mind the vast amount of space that surrounds us.
So no longer aware of the artificial elements of the world,
No longer aware of the natural elements of the world,
No longer aware of the earth as the ground upon which we sit or stand,
But now just inclining the mind to an awareness of the space,
The ongoing limitless space in all directions,
Left,
Right,
Above,
Below,
In front and back,
Allowing your body to soften into this space and just use the limitless capabilities you remind to sense what it would be like to move through this vast openness because this space that we're recollecting right now is in your mind.
Your mind is in this space,
This space is in your mind,
No longer any sense of inside or outside,
Allowing consciousness as it were and how you do this is up to you,
It's a matter of play,
Curiosity and imagination.
See if you can sense your awareness or consciousness itself to expand into the limitless realm of space that you can reflect on.
O3 Vic評論 space,
Limitless consciousness,
No boundaries,
No longer any sense of the mind being inside of the body,
Just allowing the sense of one's mind to expand,
To stretch to the very lengths that you can imagine the universe around you,
No longer believing the mind is situated in the body,
The mind now transcending the narrow small confines of the head,
No inside or outside,
No longer any stories,
No longer any categories,
Just unending openness,
Nothing to contract from,
Nothing impinging.
And for the last few minutes of this meditation,
The Buddha concludes with meditation without theme,
Just allowing your mind to be open,
Spacious,
No longer needing to bear anything in mind,
Just allow whatever state your mind finds most restful,
Most easeful,
Keeping it as open and limitless as you can.
Like all of the other.
