Daily Dose Of Awareness
A guided meditation with awareness practices and affirmations to help you rest in the simplicity of being. This practice invites you to turn your attention on awareness itself and reconnect with the wholeness that you are.
Transcript
Hi and welcome to this daily dose of awareness.
Cultivating a daily habit of awareness and presence allows us to fully engage with each moment,
Deepening our connection to ourselves and the world around us.
Start by settling into a comfortable position,
Creating conditions for you to be both relaxed and attentive.
Allow your spine to naturally lengthen,
Finding a posture that feels effortless.
Take a moment to look around the room if you like,
Taking in your surroundings and letting your nervous system settle.
Take a deep breath in through your nose,
Allowing it to fill your entire body,
And exhale slowly.
With each exhale,
Release any obvious tension you may notice,
Perhaps in the face,
The shoulders or hands.
Now gently close your eyes and mouth,
Breathing steadily through your nose.
Attention is when awareness is directed towards an object.
We are now going to place our attention on various objects,
Such as perceptions in the body,
Thoughts in the mind,
And sensations through the senses.
Start by feeling the sensations of your body sitting as it rests on the chair or the floor.
Notice the points of contact where your body meets the surface beneath you.
Now feel the sensations on your skin,
Perhaps the movement of air or texture of your clothes.
Feel the subtle sensations at the surface of your body.
Turn your attention to the different sounds around you.
Tune into the louder sounds around you.
And gradually shift your focus to the more subtle sounds.
Allow yourself to be fully present with these auditory experiences.
Next,
Bring your awareness to your thoughts.
Notice what's going through your mind right now without judgment or the need to change.
Anything.
Simply observe the flow of your thoughts as if you're watching clouds drift across the sky.
Are your thoughts fast,
Slow,
Scattered,
Or focused?
Just notice them and let them be.
Now shift awareness to the sensations in your body.
Scan your body slowly from head to toe and observe whatever is present,
As if you were discovering your inner body for the first time.
No need to change anything.
Just be aware of the different sensations.
Now notice if there are any places in your body that feel good,
Relaxed,
Or neutral.
Allow yourself to appreciate these sensations,
No matter how subtle they may be.
Now shift your attention to more difficult sensations.
And see if they may be related to an emotion present in the body.
In this moment,
Perhaps it's frustration,
Sadness,
Anxiety,
Or something else.
Allow yourself to experience these feelings fully without trying to push them away or hold on to them.
Here and now,
With every inhale,
Allow awareness to encompass all these aspects of your present moment experience.
The thoughts,
Perceptions,
Sensations,
And feelings.
Notice this rich experience flowing through awareness.
Now that we have let awareness focus on outside objects,
Let's see if we can let awareness simply be aware of itself as the subject of experience.
To do so,
I'm going to ask you a couple of questions for you to inquire and to answer silently within.
First question,
Do you exist?
Second question,
Are you currently aware?
Notice what effects these questions have on you.
If you are on the receiving end of my voice,
You most likely have a feeling that you do exist and are aware,
And the answer to both questions is therefore yes.
Now go to the part of you that is able to feel the yes in both of these questions.
The part of you that is able to say,
I exist,
I am aware.
Allow yourself to simply rest in that place.
This is the calm,
The silence,
The peace within that is always accessible at any time,
Like the sun that is always shining,
Even when dark clouds are obscuring it.
We're now going to focus on seven affirmations to help you come home to your innate sense of peace and the awareness that we are.
Notice how the words contained in these affirmations resonate within you while remaining focused on the sensation of your breath.
First affirmation,
I am.
Second affirmation,
I am aware.
Third affirmation,
Whenever there is agitation inside of me,
I can come back to the being and awareness that I am.
Fourth affirmation,
My being is inherently peaceful.
Fifth affirmation,
I practice presence by frequently silently asking myself,
What is currently happening in my experience?
Sixth affirmation,
The past and the future exist only in the mind,
Only the present truly exists.
Seventh affirmation,
This moment matters more than any other moment.
Before transitioning back to the external world,
Take a moment to appreciate the stillness and peace you've cultivated within,
Knowing that you can return to this inner state whenever you need.
Now gently bring awareness to the sounds that surround you,
Feeling the weight of your body supported by the surface beneath you.
And when you feel ready,
With a sense of gratitude for this time you've dedicated to yourself,
Gently open your eyes to let the light in.
I hope you enjoyed today's daily dose of awareness.
Have a beautiful day,
And I'll see you soon for another meditation.

This was quite amazing. The simple thought and acceptance that “I am” and “I am aware” brings a deeper meaning to my existence and my awareness.
