So let's do a solar,
Brief solar meditation.
In the early morning is best.
Ideally before 9,
9.
30 depending on where you are in the time of year.
Currently where I am the Sun is arising at around 6.
15 in the morning and by about 8 it's quite warm.
This is here in New Zealand in the summer.
Just sitting somewhere comfortably and obviously outside in as natural an environment as you can.
Just with your eyes taking in the space around you and with your whole body taking in that space.
Just as you can look around and see the space and you can hear vibrations,
Sounds from that space with your ears.
You can also feel the temperature.
Maybe the temperature of the air that you're breathing in through your nose might be a little cooler than the temperature of the Sun on your skin.
Depending on your circumstances wear as little clothing as possible.
Naked if you can.
Whatever is appropriate to your situation.
You want at least a significant amount of the skin on your body exposed to the light from the Sun.
So as you look around and just taking in the whole scene.
Also feel around.
Expand sensibility of your body.
Your whole body.
Take in that space.
What is the sensation of this moment?
This space.
You've got the vision of it.
You've got what you hear from it.
Maybe even smell things occasionally.
And you can feel kinesthetically the heat and the coolness.
The difference of temperature from various things.
Then there's a more deeper feeling.
And when you're ready to go into more profoundly into that deeper feeling.
Just gently closing your eyes now.
So that you can really be throughout the body.
From the tips of your fingertips.
Up through your arms.
To your shoulders.
The palms of your hands.
The backs of your hands.
The soles of your feet.
The tips of your toes.
All the way up to your knees.
Up to your hips.
All the way up from the tip of your tailbone.
Up through your spine.
Between your wing bones at the back.
Your shoulder blades.
Up through the neck.
Into the skull.
And your whole face coming down over the forehead.
The eyebrows.
The eyes.
The nose.
The lips.
The cheeks.
The whole head.
The whole upper body.
The whole pelvic area.
The whole torso.
The legs.
The whole legs.
The whole body.
The whole body.
From the top of the head.
To the tips of your fingers.
And to the tips of your toes.
And just simply feeling.
Being aware.
Aware of all that right now.
And arising within this spaciousness.
This felt sensational spaciousness.
Whatever that sensation is.
However subtle it might be.
There's an experience that you are having right now within space.
The spaciousness of the body.
The spaciousness of the consciousness that this body is within.
And arising within that space is breath.
The action of breathing.
The pulsation of breathing.
And if you don't habitually breathe with the lower abdomen.
Then just intentionally,
Gently,
Tenderly.
Being present to extending the breath.
The initiation of the breath into the abdomen.
Ideally all the way to the pelvis.
Just below the belly button.
And initiating the physical action of inhalation from there.
Within this space of the body.
The spaciousness of the body.
And after a number of breaths.
Long.
Deep.
Not strained.
Be tender.
Be gentle.
As you would with a newborn baby.
Just gently extending the breath so that it's prolonged inhalation.
Noticing the transition from the inhalation to the exhalation.
Then the body exhales until there's a slight contraction at this point below the navel.
Down by the pelvis.
And again there's a slight moment of transition.
May even be a slight pause from the exhalation to the inhalation.
From the inhalation to the exhalation.
Just being attentive momentarily to that point within the breath where you are neither inhaling or exhaling.
And then the other half of the breath cycle arises and emerges.
Now from this space,
Bringing your attention to the light of the sun.
Your eyes are closed so you can be facing,
Looking directly into the sun with your closed eyes.
And feeling initially the warmth.
The warmth of the energy from the sun.
It's not just light.
What we think of as light from the sun is just one small segment of the full spectrum of energy.
Life force.
Consciousness.
Vitality.
It's emanating from the center of the sun.
The heart of the sun.
What we think of as the sun up in the sky that we see through the sky.
This is the heart or core of the solar body.
The solar being that we exist within.
Extends.
Extends vast distance into space.
And we are within that extended body.
That electromagnetic life force field.
The matrix.
The living matrix of the sun.
So feeling that warmth.
And maybe the back of your body.
The parts that are in the shade of your body.
You may feel they are slightly cooler.
Just noticing the full range of experiential temperature.
What we think of as temperature.
Heat and the absence of heat.
Here I am.
And with the next inhalation.
Imagining within your imaginal realm.
Within your consciousness.
That the whole body.
The whole field.
The sensational space of the body.
Is absorbing this life force from the heart of the sun.
From the living matrix of the sun in which this body exists.
And functions.
And then on the exhalations.
You may go one of either way.
One of two ways.
Either have the sense.
Imagining that energy condensing into the core of the body as you exhale.
Condensing into the bones and into the organs.
And maybe start with that.
But at some point you may also feel that as you exhale.
That energy is expanding out from the cells of the body.
Overflowing.
My cup floweth over.
Maybe initially there'll be the sense that with each exhalation.
That life force from the sun is condensing deep into the body.
So you're inhaling that life force.
Into all the tissues or whole structure of the body.
And then with the exhalation.
It's like it condensates into a nectar that goes deep into the bones.
Deep into the spine.
Deep into the core of every cell.
Simply continuing.
Inhaling with the whole body.
Initiating the breath in the lower abdomen.
Drawing in the life force of the sun.
Condensing it into the body.
With the exhalation.
Inhaling and exhaling.
And you can continue that for as long as you wish.
You can pause the recording.
And now coming to that phase where there's so much energy.
Life force condensed into the body.
That now as you exhale.
There's this slight expanding of your field.
It's as though field of energy around your cells.
And the collective of your cells.
The whole greater body.
The life force.
The light is expanding around you.
And from this space in the core of your heart.
Simply tuning into a deep sense of gratitude.
Of appreciation for the sun.
Every experience you have had in this lifetime is by virtue of the sun.
Has been made possible by the life force of the sun.
This human experience would not exist without that.
Every thought.
Every feeling.
Every up and down.
Your entire human experience has been entirely dependent on this vast body.
This vast solar being.
This star being that we call the sun.
Really deeply smiling into your heart.
Smiling inwardly.
Smiling the whole being into the heart space.
And as you exhale.
Just extending.
Expanding that field of gratitude.
Of loving reciprocity.
Into the sun.
Now it's not necessarily the sun up in the sky.
Which is a long way away.
And as we see.
As I said before.
You're in a living matrix of the sun right now.
So connecting into that field of the sun.
The matrix of the sun.
The whole body is within in this moment.
Expanding that sense of deep gratitude.
That loving appreciation.
Into that field.
You've received life force from the sun.
And it's been qualified in a certain way.
By you.
Your frequency.
Your vibration.
Your consciousness.
And in that re-qualified state.
You're now gifting it back to the field of the living matrix of the sun.
The solar being.
The star being that we are parts of.
Units of.
Again bringing your attention to the point just below the navel.
Where the breath is initiating.
And concluding.
And when you're ready.
Just gently opening your eyes.
Taking in the visual experience of the space around you.
May you have a truly beauty filled luminous conscious day.
Presence.
A day of presence and pure eternal consciousness.
