
Freshen Up Those Energy Centres (Chakra Meditation)

In this Energy Centre (7 Chakra based) meditation, we will gently gather the attention around each centre from base to crown and slowly focus awareness, then invite a soft clearing, freshening movement of breath and energy to promote and invite space and flow into each centre, one by one until linking them at the heart.
Transcript
Welcome to your practice.
You'll find your way to a comfortable seat or if you prefer to find a reclined position lying down for this meditation,
Then feel free to do so.
And take your time,
That little bit of extra time to really find comfort.
Align the spine,
Adjust the arms,
The legs and come to that place of settled awareness.
And as you already start to gather the attention in towards our base of support,
Awareness of the feet and the legs,
And awareness of the pelvis,
The hips,
And starting to focus the awareness to this bottom energy center,
This base,
This root chakra,
The base of the spine.
I'm just focusing your awareness to the space of the perineum,
Noticing any qualities that you are aware of as your awareness,
As your attention comes down to this place,
To this space.
And then imagining the energy of the breath moving in and out of the space.
And that might have a sense of vertical movement or horizontal movement or even a spinning rotational movement,
But notice what quality comes naturally as you have your awareness right down the base of the spine,
The tailbone,
Perineum area.
I'm inviting in a sense of clarity,
A sense of clearing,
A sense of freshness.
And you might do that by inviting in movement or inviting in a sense of clear light,
White light,
Focusing that on this base chakra.
And then gently letting that go.
I'm starting to move the awareness up just a little to the area of the sacrum and just above on this area of the sacral energy center,
The sacral chakra.
And noticing the qualities of this space.
And again you might notice movement and that might be vertical movement,
Horizontal movement or even some form of rotational movement.
Really noticing what direction do you sense movement,
What direction do you sense energy.
Without trying to change anything at all,
Just being aware.
You may even notice that you notice nothing at all,
But the mere fact of noticing that,
The act of noticing that you don't notice is in fact a form of noticing and it's cultivating the skill of interoception,
This ability to know ourselves from the inside out,
This ability to connect to our deeper energy and connect to these subtle energy systems of the body.
And then again here inviting a sense of clearing,
A sense of cleansing,
Of freshness to the sacral region.
Maybe that involves clear or white light,
A sense of movement.
Or maybe it's increasing the movement that you already noticed or counteracting it or freshening it in some way.
And then letting that go and gently move the awareness upwards once again coming up the length of the spine to the point between the belly button and the bottom of the sternum,
This power center,
This area of the body where maybe your gut instinct comes from,
The gut feeling comes from,
This area known as the solar plexus,
The solar,
The doing energy,
The taking action energy.
Just notice the qualities of this area,
This energy center.
And again there might be movement in one of those directions.
And spend these first few moments in the act of noticing.
As you come into this place of noticing,
Maybe you start to become aware of what cleansing will feel like,
It's what freshness will feel like,
And inviting that in now.
Additional movement,
Additional rhythm,
Maybe it's a sense of again breathing in and out of this area,
Imagining the breath moving through,
Maybe with the clearness,
The whiteness of light coming through.
Make it yours.
Make this practice,
This process yours.
When you feel ready,
Once that feels clearer,
Fresher,
Or just more connected,
Take a moment to move the awareness back to the base,
Back to that root chakra,
Up to the sacral,
And then up again to the solar plexus,
Connecting these three points together,
A level of coherence,
A level of rhythm.
Gently move the awareness up to the space in the center of the chest,
That heart center space,
That heart chakra.
And as your awareness comes there you may notice the beating of the physical heart,
You may notice an increase in awareness of the energy of the space,
The radiance of the energy from the heart center,
And really spend some time noticing the qualities of the space,
The qualities of movement,
The directions of movement of radiance.
And then start to imagine the breath moving in and out of the space,
The space that the heart and lungs occupy.
Once you are familiar with the qualities of this space,
Begin to invite in a little bit more cleansing,
Clearing freshness.
And once this heart center,
The energy of the heart,
Feels just maybe just that tiny little bit freer,
Start to connect it to those lower centers.
The root,
The sacral,
The solar plexus,
Connecting through to the heart,
Inviting the sense of rhythm and coherence with these four energy centers.
As we gently move up to the throat,
And the energy of the neck,
This area of concentration,
This kind of valve system,
Imagining the energy concentrating into this throat area,
Noticing the qualities in your throat center.
This chakra of communication in both directions,
Giving and receiving of words,
Emotions.
And finding this way to communicate using the center.
When noticing any qualities that are there,
Movement,
Stagnation,
Ease.
And then inviting in freshness,
Inviting in a sense of clearing,
A sense of radiance,
Spaciousness,
Maybe that clear light,
That white light,
Anything that gives a freshness,
And then gently letting your awareness soften away from the throat,
And gently move the awareness up to the space between the eyebrows,
That third eye space.
Imagining your attention moving back from the space between the eyebrows on the surface of the body to the space between the eyebrows that lines up with the top of the spine,
Sending the awareness back to that space.
On this third eye center,
Connecting to the energy of insight,
And noticing the qualities of your third eye space,
Of this mind space.
Once you feel familiar with the existing qualities of the space,
Begin to invite in that real sense of freshness once again,
Inviting the movement,
The clearing,
The whiteness of the light,
Clear light clarity.
And then from there creating a gentle connection between the throat and the third eye,
These two chakras,
These two energy centers connecting to each other.
And then gently moving the attention to the crown of the head,
The top of the skull,
And just above the skull,
This crown chakra,
This energy center,
Noticing the qualities here,
Connection to your higher self.
Well,
Maybe you consider a connection to a higher power,
A higher energy,
A universal all-encompassing energy,
A loving,
Nurturing,
Creative energy.
Noticing the ease with which that connection is there.
We'll begin to invite in a little more clarity,
Clearing,
Cleansing and freshening that white light,
Clear light energy,
Inviting in any movement.
And then gently connecting from the crown to that third eye point,
Down to the throat.
Moving your awareness right down to the base of the spine,
Up through the sacral,
The solar plexus,
And then allowing all of this to connect in at the heart center.
Noticing the upper body,
Lower body,
Connect in the center in the middle.
As those energies are invited to connect in this coherent system,
What qualities do you notice now?
Maybe you invite a real sense of movement,
Vertical movement of the energy up and down from the base of the spine to the crown of the head and back.
It may be in time with the rhythm of your breath,
Inhaling the energy up,
Exhaling the energy down,
Lingering in the place of pause at the top of the inhale and the place of pause at the bottom of the exhale.
And then start to concentrate the awareness into the center,
From the top to the center,
From the base to the center.
For these last few moments of this practice,
Imagining the breath moving in and out of that center.
And then you may begin to notice a sense of radiance,
Expansion,
Your awareness,
Your energy after this cleansing,
This clearing,
This fresh clean,
Clear energy radiating out into the space around you.
And invite this energy of connection,
The energy of clearing to move out beyond,
Out into the rest of the building that you're in,
The area that you're in,
Moving out through the spaces around you into the landscape and across the globe out into the solar system and out beyond the galaxies.
I want to very gently come back to your center,
Come back to awareness of breath,
Awareness of your physical body and this place in this space that you're practicing.
Very much take your time when you do feel ready.
Gently bring the awareness back into the space around you to close the practice in your own time.
