No sound so So we're going to do the spaciousness meditation and contemplation with ourselves.

And this is traditionally thought of as an antidote to over-identification.

That the mind lays claim to experience when it doesn't have to.

There can be experience without that being me or my experience.

Again tuning into just the feeling of this life.

Meditation doesn't need to be difficult or approached as some kind of mental feat.

Simply feeling your life,

Feeling the moment.

And then begin to highlight the mind.

As soon as we use language like that it helps us get a little bit of space.

The mind.

Not my mind.

Become aware of the mind.

Maybe it's a little bit like peering into a fish bowl.

Or being within a fish bowl and the fish are swimming around you.

And notice the thinking mind.

In view the thinking mind as something independent.

Like its own entity.

Like a mental creature.

And what this creature does is it thinks.

So you're watching this thinking creature swim around a bit.

And then give rise to the reflection.

This is not me.

This is not myself.

Or I am not the thinking mind.

Give rise to a reflection such as that and observe its truth.

If you were the thinking mind you would not be able to reflect on it.

Notice your super imposition.

That you have perspective on it.

Thinking mind is not me,

Is not myself.

And then tuning into any area of the body.

Could be the whole body.

Yet it may be impactful reflection to just choose one part of the body.

So tuning into the hands.

Wherever.

And giving rise to the reflection.

I am not the hands.

The hands are not myself.

The body is not me.

The body is not who I am.

And feel that quality of not identifying with.

And then shifting to the feelings.

It can be a quality of feeling like restlessness or agitation.

It can be just a general mood or emotional state.

And take that in as an energy that is moving and existing in the body for now.

This temporary energetic visitor.

I am not this feeling.

This feeling is not myself.

You're not denying the experience or its presence.

You're just not laying claim to it.

I am not this feeling.

This feeling is not myself.

And then if you like,

Think of the personality that's usually associated with your name.

Or any qualities that you associate with your name.

And give rise to the reflection.

I am not the personality.

The personality is not myself.

And finally,

I want to invite you to observe that this life is happening all by itself.

So notice that the ears receive sound.

And you're not doing that.

Notice that whether open or closed,

The eyes see.

And you're not choosing or doing that.

Ears hear and the eyes see all by themselves.

Notice that the body feels all by itself.

The heart beats.

The respiratory system functions.

And then finally the mind.

The mind thinks all by itself.

How can you say you're doing that?

Be curious about what evidence is there for any kind of doer.

The operator of this body-mind.

Is there any evidence in this moment that that's a real thing?

And then finally,

Just take a few moments and enjoy this effortless being.

This life living through us.

This is our time.

Sometimes,

If I ever look at the sink,

Well I mean it's a Accordingly repairable sink from a reconfiguration
