Namaste,
And welcome to this meditation practice.
As we get started,
Please find a comfortable seat with your spine in an upright vertical position.
Look around you at your surroundings.
Notice where you are in this world and express gratitude to yourself for taking a moment to meditate.
As you arrive here at this moment,
Soften your gaze and take two or three deep breaths.
And as you finish with a full exhale,
Close the eyes for a moment.
Just notice that change.
Simply observe what is coming up on your mental screen in the darkness.
Maybe your mind is giving you a lot,
Colors,
Images,
Flashes of light,
Thoughts about your day.
Or maybe your mind is not doing much at all.
Whatever is happening is perfect as it is,
As it is.
Begin to shift your attention to the parts of your body that are making contact with your seat.
Gently allow your energy to seep down into your chair or cushion,
Rooting down and grounding you.
See if you can feel down through your roots and notice the subtle energy of the earth as it is coming up to support you.
Notice how your body is already starting to relax as you sink in deeper.
Realize that you are breathing and gently place your attention here.
Don't guide the breath at all.
Without any effort,
Let your body breathe exactly how it wants and just watch.
Whatever is happening with your breath is good.
It's all good as it is,
As it is.
With every breath,
Allow yourself to relax a little further.
Gently shift your attention to your sense of hearing and notice as the bowls enter the space.
For the next few minutes,
Keep your attention placed on the sound of the bowls.
Keep your eyes closed.
Listen to the sound and allow the vibration to soothe the body-mind.
From time to time,
A thought may pop up,
An image or idea,
Or you might feel a sensation in your body.
Any of these things are common and natural distractions.
The moment you realize you are not thinking about the sound of the bowls,
Gently drop your distraction and place your attention back on the vibration.
This may happen many times or only a few.
It makes no difference.
The important part is your choice to refocus on the bowls every time.
This is proper meditation.
Gently focus on the bowls,
Allow your mind to run,
And pull it back when you notice it has drifted,
Returning to the sound over and over.
We'll continue like this for a few minutes and I'll be back to get you when it's time.

For a moment,
Just rest.
Do absolutely nothing.
Rest in awareness.
Rest in consciousness.
Rest in existence.
Rest in being.
Slowly rest.
Your body is an instrument,
One that is made of sound itself.
As you go through life,
The circumstances of being a human can throw you out of tune.
Meditative practices like this one can bring your system back into balance and help you experience more harmony in your life.
As we approach the end of this session,
Take a moment to thank yourself again for making time for meditation today.
May all beings be without suffering and the causes of suffering.
May all beings know happiness and the causes of happiness.
May all beings feel peace and real harmony.
And may we all be truly free.
May it be so.
This practice is complete.
