Namaste and welcome to this primordial sound meditation.
Please find a comfortable seat with your spine in a vertical position and as you find your place,
Take a few slightly deeper breaths.
When you feel ready,
You may close your eyes.
Allow the body to breathe naturally and with each exhale,
Let yourself relax a little further.
Simply observe the breath.
As we breathe into our session,
We will practice a little self-inquiry and observation.
Silently ask yourself the question,
Who am I?
Who am I?
Resist the urge to answer your own question and simply allow whatever comes up in your mind to whatever comes up in your mind to float by.
Just observe,
Not reaching for anything.
Who am I?
Letting go of that question,
Moving on and asking,
What do I want?
What do I want?
Just watch what is popping up for you,
Not giving energy to any of these ideas.
Again,
Asking the question,
What do I want?
From here,
We let go again and we silently ask ourselves,
What is my purpose?
What is my purpose?
Again,
Let thoughts appear and float away without holding them.
What is my purpose?
And one final question,
What am I grateful for?
What am I grateful for?
In what ways am I fortunate today?
How am I blessed in my life?
Again,
Resisting the urge to answer and openly asking,
What am I grateful for?
Let go of the questions and their answers and put your attention gently on the breath.
Continuing to let your body breathe how it wants,
Simply watch and rest for a moment.
Rest in the perspective of witnessing awareness.
You may now begin repetition of your personal mantra.
From here,
Repeat the mantra,
Allowing the vibrations to sink into your conscious field and soothe your body-mind.
As you become distracted by a thought,
Emotion,
Sensation in your body,
Or a sound in your environment,
Simply refocus on the mantra and continue.
This is proper meditation.
Be gentle and easy with your attention.
Allow the mind to run naturally,
Softly calling it back to the mantra each time you notice it has gone astray.
We will continue like this in silence.
I will keep an eye on the time and call you back at the end.
Enjoy your meditation.
You may softly let go of your mantra.
Keep your eyes closed and rest.
Rest in awareness.
Rest in consciousness.
Rest in being.
Simply rest.
The moments following meditation are precious opportunities to set intentions for life.
You can think of these as seeds planted deep in your subconscious.
You'll repeat each of these silently after me,
Allowing them to resonate inward.
Joyful,
Energetic body.
Joyful,
Energetic body.
Loving,
Compassionate heart.
Loving,
Compassionate heart.
Calm and reflective mind.
Calm and reflective mind.
And finally,
A lightness of being.
Lightness of being.
Let all of these intentions go,
Letting them sink deeply into your mind,
Allowing the universe to sort out all the details.
Take a moment to thank yourself for sitting down to meditate today.
As simple as the practice may be,
It can be one of the most difficult things to actually do.
Our modern conditioning does not value stillness and rest.
So your choice to sit down should be celebrated.
Before you open your eyes and return to activity,
Take a few deeper,
More intentional breaths to seal your meditation.
May the long time sun shine upon you,
All love surround you,
And may the divine light inside of you guide your way forward.
This practice is complete.
