Coming home.
This practice is centered around coming home to our bodies,
Feeling that connection and taking the time to really listen to what our bodies are trying to tell us.
We live such fast,
Busy lives.
We live in our heads.
We get further and further away from our body's signals,
Our body's messages,
That disconnection from body.
We tend to have the answers within and it's just a matter of sitting down with ourselves and listening in.
To start with we'll do some affectionate breathing.
Simply place your hand on your chest,
Close to your heart and as we start to notice our breath,
By placing our hand on our heart,
This is where we start to forge that connection with our body.
You might feel your chest beating,
You might feel your breath quicken or slow down.
Then we just start to take some deep breaths in through the nose,
Holding at the top and then slowly exhaling out the mouth.
We continue breathing in through the nose,
Filling up our stomachs,
Finding that pause,
Holding the breath and then slowly exhaling out the mouth,
Feeling our shoulders sink with that breath out.
Paying attention to that hand on our heart,
Feeling our chest rise with each breath in and fall with the breath out.
This simple practice of just having our hand on our heart brings awareness to the body,
An awareness that we can lose throughout the busy lives we lead.
So continue with a breath that works for you,
A rhythm that feels comfortable.
Breathing slowly in through the nose and then slowly exhaling out the mouth.
All that stress that's pent up in the body,
Start to release with each breath out.
We give ourselves permission to bring a sense of calmness and ease.
Sitting up tall through the spine and just focusing on the breath and slowly out.
Hand on our heart,
We're creating a bond,
Releasing oxytocin.
Answering these questions without judgment.
How can I show myself kindness?
What is one thing I can do to support myself better?
How can I share kindness and compassion from my heart for others?
Breathing in through the nose.
Finding a gentle pause of holding a breath and then slowly exhaling out.
By placing our hands on our heart,
We start to cultivate that self-trust within,
That coming home to our bodies.
Allowing yourself to remain in silence for a few moments.
Basking in that connection to self.
Listening to anything that comes up.
Paying attention to any intuitive pulls,
Any signs from the body,
Things that we may have ignored.
Starting to connect with that voice within.
Paying attention to our intuition.
Feeling safe and supported knowing that we have the answers within and just taking a moment to connect back,
To really listen to our body.
We'll find all the clarity we need,
The answers to most of our problems.
Or at the very least support to know that we are safe,
To make our decisions.
We're coming home to ourselves and we are safe and supported.
Taking a deep breath in through the nose and then slowly exhaling everything out.
Starting to find slight movement within the body.
You might want to bring your shoulders up to your ears,
Squeezing them tightly and then just dropping them back down.
Gently moving your neck from side to side as we start to come towards the end of the practice.
Bringing gentle movement.
You can gently open your eyes and know that you are supported,
You are safe and you can always come home to yourself.
Sitting for just a few moments to connect back to your body and being honest about how you're feeling.
You'll find the answers to what you are seeking.
