Hi and welcome to the JOA Meditations for Beginners.
This is Jessica and I will be guiding you through your meditation experience today.
Today's meditation will be on feeling balanced.
Find a comfortable seat and begin to feel your breath.
Feel the balance of your inhale and exhale.
And if it helps on your inhale count to four and on your exhale count to four.
Continue this process until you feel equally balanced within your body and mind.
Working to slow the inhale and slow the exhale where it's comfortable for you.
You want to use your breath to soften you not create anxiety.
And now begin to replicate this breath into your body's internal rhythm and find a balance there.
This may be on the most obvious level of shifting your posture to the most subtle level of your heartbeat or breath moving within the body.
And now begin to breathe up and down the spine slowly and mindfully.
Feel centered,
Feel balanced now.
We are going to invite in a mantra.
So on your next inhale say to yourself I am.
On your next exhale say to yourself balanced.
Inhale I am,
Exhale balanced.
Inhale I am,
Exhale balanced.
Keep repeating for the next few moments through your inhale and your exhale.
Inhale I am,
Exhale balanced.
Keep repeating for the next few moments through your inhale and your exhale.
Slowly begin to release the mantra.
Take a moment to come out of your meditation very slowly.
You can start by moving your hands,
Moving your feet,
Opening up your eyes last.
You can stay here for however long you need to.

Remember to find balance by connecting to your breath.
Let this meditation be a reminder to keep the balance in the breath so that it will balance out the body and mind.
