The babbling brook is an off-shoot from the river. It delivers a calming and enjoyable sound and looks picturesque. This meditation invites the visualization of a babbling brook, to achieve peace and tranquility. Calm your mind with the water of the babbling brook and learn to flow like the stream.

And this meditation is to bring our awareness into the breath fully and to deepen our connection to the breath so that we may use the breath as a tool when times get challenging or stressful.

So we're taking this time to find a comfortable seat.

Dropping the weight of the body down,

Sitting up tall in the spine.

The other day I was on a walk in the forest and I passed a bubbling brook,

A stream that ran down the side of the mountain.

And what I noticed upon watching the water flow is that the stream carried small stones and the ones that were in its capacity to pull down with its force,

But it went around larger boulders,

Not even attempting to move them or budge them in any way.

And so just like that bubbling brook,

I'm going to bring our awareness to some of the bigger problems that we face and things that we cannot budge,

That we cannot move,

That we cannot control.

And in this state and age,

Those bigger problems may be something like uncertainty.

Those bigger problems might be something like restrictions,

That this invisible virus has on our daily life,

Our day to day.

What are some of the bigger problems that come into your mind?

Things that you can't change,

Things that you can't move and can't control.

Just like the steady stream of water that pours down the side of a mountain.

We're going to work with these larger issues like boulders and instead understand how we can work around them,

Things that we cannot control.

We instead learn to find peace with.

We learn to work around.

And some of the smaller problems like little pebbles that we can in fact shift and move.

These little problems are how we react to the boulders.

We can breathe away the stress and tension.

We can again work on finding peace in each moment with the emotions that we store and hold and the tensions that inhabit the body.

We can make the most with our time.

And so thinking about how some of these stones lay in your path,

Some of these smaller struggles and challenges and how you can change your environment,

How you can move some of these problems around.

And just like the bubbling brook that continues to flow downstream,

Pouring off the side of a mountain,

We will continue to flow and continue to thrive.

Taking a few more breaths.

The last breath in.

Filling up the body completely and then exhale,

Release with the sound like the river.

And then bring the hands to the heart,

Linking the eyes open if they're closed.

We always have the power to control what we can and surrender to what we cannot.

Have yourself a beautiful rest of the day.

Namaste.
