You're not feeling well,
It's a good time to really check in without deciding what's going on.
And just feeling the feelings,
Feeling the sensations.
Of course it's more difficult to relax when we get a little sick because what happens when we get sick,
The sympathetic nervous system comes into action,
That's part of the immune system.
And so our body becomes more stressed.
And all the things that we've discussed in the past become active.
Thoughts become more worrisome,
More bothersome.
Sometimes the world starts to look darker,
More negative.
And so it is really a good time to try to drop in,
Let go,
Just be with what's happening.
Noticing where the breath is,
Noticing the difficulties,
Maybe the tension around the breath.
Both in the chest and in the airway,
The sinuses,
In the nose and throat.
Just taking a breath gently without forcing.
Whatever is blocking,
Just allow that to be there and just gently go around it.
Attempting to get that breath down into the belly.
Noticing again the tension,
Body's desire to hold,
Unwillingness to let go.
The deeper we drop in,
The more we contact our parasympathetic system through the breath,
The more our body can naturally take care.
A lot of energy gets used up just to hold,
Defend.
Not all of that energy is being used to fight the cold or fight the flu or fight the COVID or whatever.
A lot of it's just bracing,
Holding tension,
Which can exhaust us.
So allowing the breath to come down,
Allowing the diaphragm to soften.
Noticing the discomfort without identifying with it,
Without creating stories around it.
Just noticing.
And gently deepening the breath.
With each breath,
You can start to visualize.
Through the in-breath comes in fresh energy,
Fresh oxygen,
The potential to clear,
To heal,
To rebalance the system.
Every out-breath letting go of little virus particles,
Letting go of any tension,
Letting go of all of that murky matter that comes along with feeling unwell.
You're creating that gentle pulsating rhythmic healing system.
You can feel,
Imagine that input of the healing energy,
Fresh oxygen coming in and going deeper into the system,
Being pumped through the body,
The cardiovascular system,
The breath and the heartbeat.
Moving the healing through the body.
Every breath in,
Go a little bit further with every breath out,
Expands even deeper into the system.
You can imagine that in-breath,
Whatever visual can work for you.
You can start to bring it through like light into the rest of the body or.
.
.
Little bits of healing,
Little bits of intelligence that knows how to set things right.
Every breath just brings a deeper level of ease,
Deeper level of movement,
More relaxation,
Sending the fresh chi through the body all the way to the fingertips,
All the way to the toes,
Up into the brain,
Sending signals throughout the nervous system to release,
To relax,
To let go.
And at the same time to release and expel the invaders.
Being ourselves,
What is us and what is not us,
All deeply interconnected with all that is.
There's a recognition of what belongs inside and what doesn't belong.
The cold,
The virus doesn't belong.
Just let it go,
Release it,
Gently breathing it out.
As we bring more oxygen into the system,
We create an environment that is not conducive to being sick,
Doesn't give the virus anywhere to penetrate,
Almost becomes slippery inside of us,
The invaders can't hold on,
Can't gain traction.
We become more connected,
More identified with what is deeper and quieter and stationary,
Still within us.
Allowing the breath to come gently in,
Gently out.
Releasing all the tensions,
All the resistance.
Realize and grounds to theory and frames.
And you can also try to imagine with the neo small army of warriors that actually come out when there's an invader.
Releasing relaxing so that these small but potent warriors are able to come out and find their target,
Release and eliminate them.
Giving them all the space that they need to protect and heal.
Each breath in giving a little bit more information,
A little bit more healing energy,
A little bit more fresh chi strengthen,
Health strengthen,
Fundamental upright energy of the body.
Feeling these little warriors there,
Their fuel.
Getting them throughout the body,
Going all to all parts of the body and just taking out every aspect of the invader of what doesn't belong.
This allows us to distinguish the difference between what's me,
What's not me.
Release,
Let go of what's not me.
As you keep breathing gently into the belly,
Finding yourself going a little bit deeper.
Feeling for the disturbance in the system that allowed for this disease,
This illness,
This uncomfortability to arise.
Just looking for that underlying disturbance.
Some curious feeling around for it,
Maybe finding the motion,
Maybe finding tension.
Feeling thoughts that have a downward pull on the energy system.
First found just allow the out breath to take it away.
With each breath coming back more towards whole,
Repairing any disturbance,
Any upset in the energy.
Returning to vibrancy,
Continuing to notice these areas,
These emotions,
Tensions,
Which come with thoughts and ideas,
Have a negative downward pull to them.
Might be fear involved,
Upset,
Then breathing out,
Releasing,
Letting go into just being,
Allowing the deep intelligence of our system to take over.
Clearing what we can consciously contact within us.
Possibly surrendering to just being here now.
Finding those troops within to go out and do their work.
Creating strength.
Releasing energy,
Building health.
All through breathing,
Releasing,
Noticing,
Releasing some more.
Identifying what's you,
What's not you,
Releasing what's not you.
Eventually discovering what is you,
The deep,
Quiet peace.
Deep energy source within you,
The ability to heal,
Ability to transform,
Ability to reveal more about who you are.
And then completely letting go into that.
And surrender into that.
And then when you finish up with the meditation,
When you come out,
Maintaining this sense of emerging,
Healing power within you,
Keeping it with you.
Not holding it,
But just being with it.
And gently just wiggling the fingers and the toes and coming out.
