Welcome to day five.
Now I know that you are committed.
You're already getting the hang of it.
Five minutes is no problem.
You might even be asking for more.
To that end,
I'm now including an extra five minutes of music so that you can continue,
If you wish,
After the guided meditation is over.
Yesterday,
We talked about the small you and your ego.
Today,
It's the big Y-O-U.
Your deeper self,
Your higher self,
Source,
Presence,
The infinite and undivided energy that makes you.
This is who you really are.
It is the possibility of you.
It's your consciousness.
It is the energy of the universe,
The driving force of creation.
You experience it as awareness.
We're so busy thinking,
Thinking,
Thinking.
It's precisely this thinking that is causing suffering,
Ruining lives,
And truthfully destroying our planet.
All thinking arises from the ego.
The ego is a protection mechanism,
Protecting the story of you.
It uses fear to drive action.
If you walk the streets and think of everyone having a fear meter on them,
You'd see that most people are up in the red zone.
We are all scurrying around,
Building stuff,
Destroying stuff,
And each other,
All out of fear based in the ego mind.
But you,
The big you,
Goes deeper.
There is a place where things are clear and quiet.
And from that quiet comes the possibility of you,
Far beyond the limitations of your story.
It's the energy of life moving through you.
The limitation of our story is like muck that hides this truth.
As we loosen the restrictions and clear the muck,
Our true self begins to resonate and vibrate through us.
It's like a song and you are the instrument.
It plays itself into the world through your body,
Through your mind,
And through your emotions.
Bringing more awareness to this process is like fine-tuning your instrument.
We can know we are touching this aspect of ourselves when we feel a great sense of joy.
It feels good and peaceful.
It feels vibrant.
It feels optimistic.
Most of all,
It feels alive.
I will bet that you've met this part of yourself.
It may have been a fleeting moment in a yoga class,
Maybe by the side of a mountain lake,
Or perhaps in a post-orgasmic haze of bliss.
This is the big Y-O-U.
Let's meditate on you.
Once again,
Get comfortable.
Sitting with a straight back,
Legs crossed,
Or your feet on the floor.
Remembering the basis of our meditations,
Or about the breath.
Remembering to breathe deeply into your abdomen,
Expanding outward,
Bringing in the oxygen into the system,
Enlivening our bodies,
Calming our nervous systems.
Bringing all your senses to the breathing,
Deepening the breathing,
Listening for the breath,
Feeling the breath,
Imagining a breath coming into your body.
As the thought comes in,
Simply label it thinking,
And then go back to your breathing.
Feeling your body on your mat,
In your chair,
On your couch,
Grounding and stabilizing on this earth.
Feeling your awareness ground and stabilize into the body.
Again,
We ask,
Who am I?
Instead of waiting for an answer,
As a thought,
Feel deeply into the awareness within for an experience of this big you.
The feeling of peace,
Of quiet,
Of letting go.
The more we let go of our thoughts and the story we must live into each day,
The more access we have to the seat of our awareness,
More access to the possibility of you.
There is a life living you.
There is a song coming through as you.
Breathe into your belly and listen closer.
Feel deeper into the quiet.
You're learning to retrieve information in a new way.
Beyond thought,
Beyond concept,
Into an expansive realm within you.
In this realm,
Beyond your mind,
Beyond your thinking,
Beyond your story,
Is the big you.
Who and what you really are.
Which is always there waiting to emerge.
Waiting to come through clearly into the world.
Welcome yourself.
And congratulate yourself on another day of meditation practice.
This is the beginning of a new world.
This is the beginning of a new world.
This is the beginning of a new world.
You you you you you you you you you
