Hello.

So find yourself in a comfortable seated position.

You could also lie down if that's your preference and close your eyes and just notice anywhere you might feel a little bit of tension.

Sometimes when we sit down or lie down we begin to notice the places we're holding on,

Just allowing there to be a gentle release.

We oppose gravity all day just by standing,

By holding our head up on our neck,

Even by keeping our mouths closed.

Allow there to be a gentle relaxation in the jaw area,

Tipping your head forward a little bit and bringing it back up onto the neck.

Just feel the heaviness of the head.

Tuning into an outside force like gravity is such a wonderful way to become grounded,

To feel the weight of the body.

Now just allowing your shoulders to feel like melting wax or a melting ice cube,

Just feeling the heaviness of the body like your legs are sandbags.

You might even want to gently lift one hand just a few inches off your lap and then allow it to just slowly,

Slowly move back to your leg and doing that with the other hand,

Just to feel the weightiness,

To tune in,

To bring all the thoughts to the body.

If you begin to think,

Just noticing the thoughts and allowing them to dissipate,

Coming back to the body,

To the weightiness of the body.

And now imagining beautiful roots growing right out of the tailbone area,

Big thick roots like your favorite tree that move down through the building,

Through the foundation,

Down into the earth.

Feel them even down at the bottom of your feet.

And these roots draw any tension you're ready to release from the body,

Any toxicity,

Any anxiousness,

Just allowing that to be drawn from the body where it's taken down into the earth and dissipated like it's turned into compost.

The roots are here to help you ground down any tension that's not ready to leave the body.

We trust that it has a purpose and that it will release when it's ready.

We never force the body.

We never force the defenses.

We trust that they've played a role and that when they no longer need to play that role and they have an understanding of the deeper wisdom of you,

They will release.

These roots serve a secondary purpose and that is to nourish you,

To invigorate you,

To enliven you.

Just like mother's milk,

These roots know what you need,

Exactly what you need today.

So as you inhale,

You imagine this nourishment coming up the spine.

And as you exhale,

You're releasing any tension,

Anything you're ready to let go of,

Down into the roots as they help to draw that from your body so that it's a cycle receiving the nurturing and nourishment and releasing any toxicity or tension.

Inhaling and exhaling in connection with these roots.

Take some time to marinate in this practice and I will continue shortly.

And now imagining the biggest root of all that goes the deepest all the way down to the center of the planet,

Helping you to feel tethered in a healthy,

Calming way,

A solid way,

A grounded way.

It's like the anchor of a boat.

And in the same way that these other roots have fed you,

This big,

Beautiful root that connects to the center of the earth feeds you with a deeper knowing of the planet,

A connection to the planet,

Accessing the understanding of your highest self.

There is so much good information in the body.

When we can tune into the body,

When we can allow it to be calm and grounded.

Again,

Just taking these nice,

Long,

Deep inhales to feel yourself receiving this knowing and exhaling out the nose,

Allowing this to be nasal breathing in and out the nose,

Exhaling anything you're ready to release down into this bigger root that connects you to the planet.

Like the mushrooms on the planet,

Like the trees on the planet communicate underground,

We too are connected energetically to each other underground.

We can feel less alone in this community,

In this unity with the earth.

Take as long as you need to do this practice.

I will leave you now in gratitude.
