Hello and welcome to today's practice where we are going to learn how to become aware and how to release negative feelings that arise in us.
Each of us encounters every day with different emotions,
Whether positive or negative ones.
It is easy to give in to emotions such as happiness,
Joy,
Peace.
But what to do when negative emotions arise,
Such as anger,
Sadness,
Restlessness?
What to do when these emotions overwhelm us?
You are not alone if you sometimes feel this way.
It is normal to feel a certain amount of sadness,
Fear or other type of negative emotions.
But we also have to learn how not to get attached to these emotions.
This short practice of a few minutes will help you to become aware of all those negative feelings that overwhelm you.
You will learn how not to keep them inside you,
But to feel them and release them consciously.
Get into a comfortable sitting position,
Straighten your spine,
Pull your shoulders down away from your ears and open your chest.
Now slowly close your eyes.
Feel the ground beneath you.
Feel the contact between the ground and your sitting bones.
Now slowly turn your attention to the breathing.
With every inhale feel the chest expanding and with every exhale the chest is contracting.
Slow down the breathing,
Make every inhale long and every exhale even longer than the inhale.
Now slowly become aware of what are you feeling right now.
Whether it is sadness,
Fear or some other negative emotion.
What makes you feel that emotion?
Where does this emotion come from?
In which part of the body is it currently manifested?
In what way is it manifested in the body?
Do you feel maybe pressure in your chest,
In your stomach or maybe pain in some part of the body?
Allow yourself to feel it.
Make a long inhale and a long exhale.
With every exhalation let go more and more of whatever you feel at that moment.
Feel how the intensity of that emotion slowly decreases.
Allow yourself to stay as long as you need to feel again the lightness in your body.
Now slowly start to move your body,
Arms,
Then shoulders,
Your neck and then the spine slowly and gently from one side to another.
And when you feel ready you can slowly open your eyes.
Thank you for being part of today's practice and I hope that it helped you to feel the peace that you need.
